In the beginning, God created heaven and earth

And He called the greater light to govern the day sun, and the lesser light to govern the night moon and stars
And God saw that it was good

On the fifth day, God created creatures of the sea and sky

With life on the land, creation was sweet

On the seventh day, God completed His work
And God said: "Let us rest from all we have made"
He blessed the day and made it holy
And God saw that it was good

The heavens and earth were now fully formed
And life was created as God had performed

God rested, His work had fulfilled His will

In the end, God looked upon everything.
He had created: the day and the night; the heavens and the earth;
The sun, moon, and stars; the land and the seas;
The plants and the animals in the water, sky, and on the earth.
And God saw that it was good.
