I just thought I saw you in a car passing by
But there was nothing in their eyes
No, I don't have a face they'd recognize
So there's nothing, nothing there for me
I just thought I heard you in the marketplace today
But when I turned around
There was no one that I found
With eyes as intimate as yours
And I never welcomed storms or cloudy weather
And all the puddles that they made
And how they ruined every picnic day
The meal I had this morning
It was so dry and boring
And the table that I eat at
Has more chairs then I could need, and so
I think I'l throw them all away
Every day at five now, the sun is setting low
So I'd just rather find a cave
To hide in while I hibernate
And spend this winter fast asleep
And I never welcomed storms or cloudy weather
And all the puddles that they made
And how they rain on only my parade
