Álvaro Díaz, a 27 year-old rapper from San Juan, Puerto Rico, is one of the most promising acts of the current Urban Latin boom. Influenced by early 90's and 00's East Coast Hip Hop movement, he sets out to rap about personal situations, aspirations and everything that surrounds day to day life in the island and his life.

Alvaro's ability for word-play, delivery and distinctive punch lines have made him one of the most talked-about artists in the local hip-hop scene. This local buzz has also brought international recognition in different countries like Spain, Mexico, Chile and the continental U.S.A., including being named one of Spotify's Artists in 2016.

After the release of his mixtape Hato Rey, and the release of his EP iLumiLatin, he's been performing non-stop: he's done five successful tours through Mexico, including being the opening act for Calle 13, headlining a showcase at Festival Marvin, headlining the Ceremonia Festival in México City, and a special appearance in the world renowned Vive Latino festival. He's taken his talent to some of the most important music festivals in the region, such as Dominican Republic's Isle of Light, Puerto Rico's We The Future, and SXSW, where he's been a featured artist for 3 consecutive years.

Álvaro's latest project is San Juan Grand Prix, an EP conceptualized around Formula 1 races, the first single is "Carro Rápido.” After its release December 13th, 2016, the album made its way to #1 on the iTunes Latin charts, debuted at #4 on the Billboard Latin Rhythm Albums chart, and at # 38 in the Billboard Latin Albums chart, all milestones for the first time in his career. In 2017, he will be performing at L Festival in LA in March, and in SXSW.
