American Authors are an American indie rock band based in Brooklyn, New York.
The members of American Authors met each other while attending Berklee College of Music in 2006.
The quartet spent their first years in Boston recording and performing music under the name The Blue Pages and recorded Anthropology and Rich With Love. In 2010, the band relocated to Brooklyn. They released two albums but decided that the name wasn't working for them so they came up with American Authors and landed a record deal with Mercury Records-Wikipedia
