I watched the blitzkrieg of Afghanistan
I watched the tanks roll through Kuwait
The bombs bursting in air
Over children and women - My God they must be scared!
The daylight reveals an American dome
The rubble and bones of your neighbor's home
Then we roll through with soldiers, tanks and guns
Like Russia in Czechoslovakia and Hitler in Poland
If it's good for them - it must be good for us
Would our children be safe there now - on a school bus?
When did America become a Patriot Act instead?
Liberty wears a bag on her head
Billboards claim our Marines are protecting us
What a lie! This totally disgusts!
If they are doing anything for me
Then come home all you soldiers - to your family
Bags on their heads - interrogate them
Come back home - you're a policeman
You've already killed - taken a life - murdered them in their beds
You're ready to protect our children - with bags on their heads
Trained to take orders - kill on command
Do you represent each American?
Every time you shoot to kill
Should Americans be getting a satisfying thrill?
As we play our video war games
Destroying our digital enemies
Learning the desire to kill
This American religion for bringing the world to its knees
Killing is the only way to win
One or a hundred is not a single sin
Whether you win or whether you lose
Guilt is not a feeling you will ever choose
There's a cop - pulled someone over
His partner's hand on his gun
In crossfire you'll be dead
Don't reach for your wallet too quickly
That cop won't miss - he's ready to shoot
Or put a bag on your head
If it's good for them - it must be good for us
Would our children be safe there now - on a school bus?
When did America become a Patriot Act instead?
Liberty wears a bag on her head
