Ausi - Jean's Interlude Lyrics
Official

You know, while we're doing all this, your dad was having a lot of problems at that time
A lot of legal problems
I don't know how many times we had to go see the judge, go to the court, find a lawyer
And this and that
At least at that time, Grandpa was making good money
So finally I got graduated and got a job
Working part-time at night as a nurse aide in the hospital
And we worked really, really hard
"What year was that?" - Ausi
1995
"Wow" - Ausi
And I worked for 21 years as a nurse
It's not easy, but at least you have a different focus..
You're hoping for the best
Something better to come along instead of getting stuck onto that "thing"
And not able to get out of that awful situation
But going back to school, selling off our restaurant, that's a big, risky step
It was so scary
Because we had nobody here
We didn't have any friends
We didn't have anybody that we could talk to
And people looked down on us, too
"oh those Chinese people..."
And so that's why I say we just have to do the best we can
