Austin Skalecki - Lumberjack Man Lyrics

Austin Skalecki - Lumberjack Man Lyrics

Lumberjack man
You got the strength of a thousand men
Your the tallest tale to ever grace this land
Lumberjack man
With your blue ox you knocked the largest tree and cleared down the forest ffrom coast to coast

He was a hundred pounds at birth
He shook the ground like earthquake in the town he lived
The townsmen all hated hid ruckus and his parents they didn't know what to do
So they sent him to northern Minnesota
Where he dug up the Great Lakes that we know now
Lake Michigan, Superior, Huron, Erie and Ontario

Now one night when the snow was falling it turned an unusual blue color
He came across an ox he named him babe and he took him home
He sat the ox around fire trying to melt off all the snow and to his surprise the ox was still blue
He thought he might have turned that way from the cold

But as the days went on the ox was remained blue and grew as large as he did too
So he helped him along dragging the trees on down the road
They started a camp and hired seven men an old cook named sourdough sam
Who brought them hot cakes every morning for those men to work

He was the lumberjack man
He's got the strength of a thousand men
The tallest tale to ever grace this land
Lumberjack man
With your blue ox you knocked the largest trees clearing down that forest from coast to coast

Well they sent all their logs down the Mississippi and Wisconsin river
The crew was working fast, working hard
Ended up sending too many logs down for the river to handle
Caused a jam two hundred feet high and blocked the river for over a mile
The lumber man made his way down to cleared it with the single swing of his ax

The townsmen cheered for that northern logging crew
They saved the town and the the giant was loved
So he kept on working until the day he died
The legend lives on he was the greatest lumber hero to ever be
Now that he's gone now people still talk about him around the world
Sometimes even sing songs about him

He was the lumberjack man
He's got the strength of a thousand men
He's the tallest tale to ever grace this land
Lumberjack man
With your blue ox you knocked the largest trees clearing down those forest from coast to coast

He was the lumberjack man
The lumberjack man
This here is the ballad of the great Paul Bunyan
