He's swept away by passion'd seas
And thinks of only how to please
While wrecks lie swollen on the sands
Brought to earth by gentle hands
Out of sight with eyes so large
Lifts the world onto his shoulders
And paddles down the silken road
A heavy man with heavy load
She needs no miracle
He needs no faith
She longs to feel alive
But he has no faith
She falls away, stripped of faith
Her glorious stained and featureless face
With time to kill, for all that's there
The scars that grace this brittle nightmare
And all that's held within these walls
I stole to the sound of the rains applause
The wind it bites into her face
Not knowing hope or a lovers grace
And out beyond my window frame
The cars rush on into the rain
And someone somewhere thinks of me
All alone with her tragedy
We search for gifts and attitude
While rockets fire the Angels food
And deep into the setting sun
They sing and speak of what's been done
They torture with their tongues and faith
And feed off those who think they're safe
We carve our names on beating hearts
Not knowing how the craving starts
The streets seem so dark and to the brim
With tragedy
