Hard To Be A Rock
(Brad Cotter/Rick Giles/Steve Bogard)
Sometimes it's hard to be a rock and show the world you're strong.
When your barley gettin' by but your the one their countin' on
You gotta find your own reward in little pieces of their love
And never let them see any thought of given up.
Someday this rocks gonna get on a roll,
find a way to get ahead of these dues I've paid.
I know theres an eagle in my soul and he's going to learn to fly
Somehow, someway.
Sometimes it's hard to be a rock to you and no one else
You put the hurt down deep and you keep it to yourself
You wanna go out and get stoned and find out how you feel,
But the whiskey makes you dream, and the wakin' up is real.
Someday this rocks gonna get on a roll,
Find a way to get ahead of these dues I've paid.
I know theres an eagle in my soul and he's going to learn to fly
Somehow, someway.
The wind, the rain, the cold, the pain will grind you and try to make you break
But the good Lord never gives you more than you can take
Someday this rocks gonna get on a roll,
Find a way to get ahead of these dues I've paid.
I know there's an eagle in my soul and he's going to learn to fly somehow
Someday this rocks gonna get on a roll
Find a way to get ahead of these dues I've paid.
I know theres an eagle in my soul and he's going to learn to fly
Somehow, someway
