Broods - Evergreen Album Lyrics

Broods - Evergreen Lyrics

Mother and Father

The nights are getting shorter
I don't know where they go
And I am getting older
And it's starting to show

And ever since I left my mother
It's much harder to know
How to make my own life here
How to make my own home

I don't want to wake up lonely
I don't want to just be fine
I don't want to keep on hoping
Forget what I have in mind
I don't want to wake up lonely
I don't want to just be fine
I don't want to keep on hoping
Forget what I have in mind
Forget what I have in mind

I remember the time when a kiss on the hand was enough
Cause we knew we were free
And we knew what it meant to be loved

But ever since I left my father
It's much harder to know
How to live my own life here
When all I need is home

I don't want to wake up lonely
I don't want to just be fine
I don't want to keep on hoping
Forget what I have in mind
I don't want to wake up lonely
I don't want to just be fine
I don't want to keep on hoping
Forget what I have in mind
Forget what I have in mind

As faces start to fade
They're slipping through my hands
It's where my heart was made
And my feet will always land

I don't want to wake up lonely
I don't want to just be fine
I don't want to keep on hoping
Forget what I have in mind
I don't want to wake up lonely
I don't want to just be fine
I don't want to keep on hoping
Forget what I have in mind
Forget what I have in mind

Everytime

Are you with us, darling?
Cause you treat it like a game
And you mess yourself up
It's such a shame, such a shame
You got issues, darling
Cause you waste it all away
You're full of yourself
It's all in vain, all in vain

And it breaks my heart
And it breaks my heart...

(Oh, oh)
Cause every time is the last time
(Oh, oh)
And I'm kicking myself just trying to be understanding
(Oh, oh)
Tell me how did you think that?
(Oh)
You're leaving me waiting and acting like I'm so demanding
(Oh, oh)

Cause it's never your fault
When you're keeping your knees clean
And sorry's below you
It's always me, always me

If it breaks your heart
It would break my heart...

(Oh, oh)
Cause every time is the last time
(Oh, oh)
And I'm kicking myself just trying to be understanding
(Oh, oh)
Tell me how did you think that?
(Oh)
You're leaving me waiting and acting like I'm so demanding
(Oh, oh)

You told me you could change your ways
You collecting scars but you look away
You promised me you could make it better
You told me it won't be the same
But your eyes stay shut and my screams fall faint
I only wanted to make it better
Make it better
Make you better

And it breaks my heart
And it breaks my heart...

(Oh, oh)
Cause every time is the last time
(Oh, oh)
And I'm kicking myself just trying to be understanding
(Oh, oh)
Tell me how did you think that?
(Oh)
You're leaving me waiting and acting like I'm so demanding
(Oh, oh)

Killing You

You like to call me when I'm alone
Tell me that it's all for me
And I wish that I was home
But we can make up for it on the weekend
Oh, we can make up for it on the weekend

[Chorus:]
But it's killing me, and it's killing you
'Cause I wish you were here
And it's killing me, and it's killing you
'Cause I wish you were here
And it's killing me, and it's killing you
'Cause I wish you were here
And it's killing me, that I'm killing you

But we can make up for it on the weekend

I got your picture everywhere I go
Telling all the boys I'm yours
And I know that it's hard to show
But I can make up for it on the weekend
Oh, I can make up for it on the weekend

Ohh

[Chorus]

But I can make up for it on the weekend

White sheets, three weeks never where you are
Too bad, nomadic is who we are
White sheets, three weeks
Never where you are
Never where you are

[Chorus]

But I can make up for it on the weekend
Oh, I can make up for it on the weekend

Bridges

Gave you a minute
When you needed an hour
Just to push it aside
Instead of leaving it behind you

If any word that I said
Could have made you forget
I'd have given you them all
But it was all in your head

And we're burning all the bridges now
Watching them go up in flames
No way to build them up again

Now we're burning all the bridges now
'Cause it was sink or swim and I went down, down, down

And we're burning all the bridges
Burning all the bridges now
And we're burning all the bridges
Burning all the bridges now

If I didn't kill it
Would you still say you needed me?
Guess I walked right into it
Guess I made it too easy

If any word that you said could have made me forget
Would I get up off the floor
Cause this is all in my head

And we're burning all the bridges now
Watching them go up in flames
No way to build them up again

And we're burning all the bridges
Burning all the bridges now
And we're burning all the bridges
Burning all the bridges now

Can we forget about it?
Can we forget?
Can we forget about it?
Can we forget?

Burning all the bridges
Burning all the bridges now
And we're burning all the bridges
Burning all the bridges now

L.A.F

Kissin' in the hallway
Turn off all the lights
Fragments of a lost love
Dissolve into the night

And I'll never get this feeling out of my head
And I'll never wanna be the one you forget

Blood hits the pavement from your eyes
Under the streetlights, but I've got you
Your restless limbs are goin' wild
They're comin' for mine cause they've got you

Climb into the back seat
Sitting on each other's knees
Wannabe on repeat
Acting like real ladies

And I'll never get this feeling out of my head
And I'll never wanna be the one you forget

Blood hits the pavement from your eyes
Under the streetlights, but I've got you
Your restless limbs are goin' wild
They're comin' for mine cause they've got you

I, I, I, I got you
I, I, I, I got you

And I'll never get this feeling out of my head
And I'll never wanna be the one you forget

Blood hits the pavement from your eyes
Under the streetlights, but I've got you
Your restless limbs are goin' wild
They're comin' for mine cause they've got you

(I, I, I, I)
Cause they've got you
(I, I, I, I)

Never Gonna Change

You're pushing down on my shoulders
And emptying my lungs
An in a moment I'm older
In a moment, you've won
And you escape me
Like it's nothing
Like words I never should have said
And the stress comes to the surface
But all of the heroes are dead

And I hate that I can't say your name
Without feeling like I'm part of the blame
And it's never gonna feel quite the same
But it's never gonna change
And I hate that I'm always so young
Had me feeling like you were the one
And it's never gonna feel like it's done
'Cause it's never gonna change
Never gonna change
Never gonna change
Never gonna change

While I dance here softly
You're next to me again
But we're still tugging on each other
And tearing up the fraying loose ends

And I hate that I can't say your name
Without feeling like I'm part of the blame
And it's never gonna feel quite the same
But it's never gonna change
And I hate that I'm always so young
Had me feeling like you were the one
And it's never gonna feel like it's done
'Cause it's never gonna change
Never gonna change
Never gonna change
Never gonna change

And I hate that I can't say your name
Without feeling like I'm part of the blame
And it's never gonna feel quite the same
But it's never gonna change
And I hate that I'm always so young
Had me feeling like you were the one
And it's never feel gonna like it's done
'Cause it's never gonna change
Never gonna change
Never gonna change
Never gonna change
'Cause it's never gonna change

Sober

I am sober
Lying in my bed
Recreating you inside my head
You speak softly
Resonating in my subconscious
Where did we begin

Just one break in the year
When it's all about the two of us
And nothing's ever been so good
You remember a life
That was all about the two of us
But you and I, we never knew

[Chorus:]
It was the greatest place I've ever been
And it was right in front of me
You carried me back home again
Where you became it all for me
[x2]

Still and silent
One gets used to it
Being idle
But not you and me

Just one break in the week
We sit down as just the two of us
And think about the life we know
Oh the promise we made
It will always be the two of us
The dream of being in control

[Chorus x2]

Ohh
Where you became it all for me

Medicine

Take me to the other side
Cause my hands are as cold as ice
Leave a heart-shaped hole in my chest
As the thoughts of you leave my head

Oh and it's the only way
It's the, it's the only way
Oh it's the only way
It's the, it's the only way
Oh it's the only way
It's the, it's the only way
Out

And you're my storm
I can't compete
And I'm forlorn
I'm moving only on your breeze
And I-I-I-I-I-I-I'll never be free
And I-I-I-I-I-I-I'll never be free

When I've got nothing left to lose
I wonder what I'll find
Without the simple sigh of you
To give me peace in mind

But you're my storm
I can't compete
And I'm forlorn
I'm moving only on your breeze
And I-I-I-I-I-I-I'll never be free
And I-I-I-I-I-I-I'll never be free

Evergreen

Lay by me, wrapped in evergreen
Catching stars to keep
Feel my quiver seize

[Chorus:]
Since we found out that we're invincible
We've been living in a dream world
Since we decided to be infinite
There's no ending and there's no fear

I was filled
You made my bones still
Your eyes well with tears
We're alive, my dear

[Chorus]

(No fear, no fear, no fear)
(No, no, no, no, no fear)
We've been weak, we've been down
(No fear, no fear, no fear)
(No, no, no, no, no fear)
Kicked ourselves to the ground
(No fear, no fear, no fear)
(No, no, no, no, no fear)
Only lost to be found
You're my hero now

[Chorus]

(No fear, no fear, no fear)
Ahh...
(No, no, no, no, no fear)
Ahh...
(No fear, no fear, no fear)
(No, no, no, no, no fear)
Ahh...
(No fear, no fear, no fear)
(No, no, no, no, no fear)
Ahh...

Four Walls

You walked in and said, "I've got some news
I didn't say all I wanted to
You know I told you that I wasn't scared. Well, I lied."
You told me, "Babe I only think of you."
And I said, "All I've got is a bunch of sad stories."
And I told them all before the night was through
And we cried, oh, but we're here now
And I'm trying hard to make you love me but I don't wanna try too hard
And I'm trying hard to take it lightly but we're here now

Those four walls now are the only place that I can breathe out
And those four walls now are home
Those four walls now are the only place that I can feel
Those four walls now are home

I wanna make you feel how I feel when I'm listening to love songs
I wanna take you to the peak of everything that you are
You're everything I need tonight
And I'm trying hard to make you want me
But I don't wanna try too hard
I was thinking you got what you came for
But you're here now

Those four walls now are the only place that I can breathe out
Those four walls now are home
Those four walls now are the only place that I can feel
Those four walls now are home

Falling at the hand of a perfect man
Falling at the hand of a perfect man

Those four walls now are the only place that I can breathe out
Those four walls now are home
Those three words now are the only thing that came to save me
Those three words now are home

Falling at the hand of a perfect man

Superstar

You've been looking for more, I've been over my head
You've been filling up spaces, I'm working too much
(I, I, I)
It's the life we're living now
(I, I, I)
And it's beautiful, somehow

I've been waiting for the sun to rise where you are
So I can tell you you're a superstar
I've been waiting for our words to be in line
So I can let you know that baby, you're the rest of my life

You have loved, you have cared, you've been too good to me
I can't try hard enough just to make you believe
(I, I, I)
We've been holding on to us
(I, I, I)
Cause we need it way too much

I've been waiting for the sun to rise where you are
So I can tell you you're a superstar
I've been waiting for our words to be in line
So I can let you know that baby, you're the rest of my life

I've been dreaming of a future that looks like our past
And they'll admire that we made it last
So I've been waiting for the sun to rise where you are
So I can tell you you're a superstar

You know I think about it all the time
You would run away with me
And we'd go looking for a place to hide
And you would be at home with me
You would be at home with me
We would be at home

I've been waiting for the sun to rise where you are
So I can tell you you're a superstar
I've been waiting for our words to be in line
So I can let you know that baby, you're the rest of my life

I've been dreaming of a future that looks like our past
And they'll admire that we made it last
So I've been waiting for the sun to rise where you are
So I can tell you you're a superstar
