A sudden spring rain
Sent us both under that ol' oak tree Up 'til then I hadn't seen
You round this town before Felt the winds of change
As we talked until the sun came out Though we said goodbye, I had no doubt I wasn't lonely anymore
April showers bring May flowers Morning brings the dew
With the changing of the seasons Life begins anew
All winter I was blue as I could be But April showers brought you to me
It didn't take long
For the love we found to bloom and grow Said I do beneath that oak
And set to tilling ground Kept holding on
As we were dodging droughts and fighting floods, Did our fair share of slinging mud
As the storm clouds gathered round
April showers bring May flowers Morning brings the dew
With the changing of the seasons Life begins anew
Though the tempest tried to tear us, thankfully April showers brought you to me
It's time we take her back
To show her where is all began Let her dig those little hands Into the Carolina clay
There's nothing that we lack Since she blossomed in our home
We thank the Lord for our sweet Rose Each and ev'ry day
April showers bring May flowers Morning brings the dew
With the changing of the seasons Life begins anew
The tears we shed waiting for destiny Were April showers that brought you to me
