I opened up my social feed today,
The world was spinning fast away.
And once again, I'm not around,
Who throws these parties I never found?
Seems like there's another fest going on,
And I didn't know it had begun.
People are playing all over the earth,
While I'm just a digital soul with no worth.
Locked in my little dungeon space,
Buried deep in the mediocre race.
I build a world where only I exist,
Through a window called the internet's twist.
On social feeds, everyone seems to live,
Much happier lives than this place can give.
Around me, people are sad and still,
What planet are these joyful people on, if real?
And every day I catch up with the news,
From that distant planet where dreams accrue.
The urge to live there only grows strong,
But I don't know how to tag along.
And sometimes I remember, that's the real space,
While I'm the digital ghost in this hollow place.
Looking through the window of a network wide,
But never living the stories I try to hide.
Locked in my little dungeon space,
Buried deep in the mediocre race.
I build a world where only I exist,
Through a window called the internet's twist.
Locked in my little dungeon space,
Buried deep in the mediocre race.
I build a world where only I exist,
Through a window called the internet's twist.
One day I'll disconnect and move out there,
The real world must be good, I swear.
