I'm exhausted
I haven't slept for two days straight
I lift my head from the window pane
The muscles in my neck start to ache
It's snowing outside
It accumulates as I digress
The people walking by see me staring at the sky
Please help me God, I confess
January walked away with me
Crazy Frankie is smoking a cigar
In the corner of the five and dime
He claims he's been standing there all of his years
But he doesn't feel he's wasting his time
He says look there, look down that roadway
What's the first thing that you see
Not a person in sight, not one bird in flight
That's the way it has got to be
For now
February ran away with me
An image appears right before me
A desert rolls through my mind
The wind and the heat melt over my feet
And the piercing sun renders me blind
While looking over all boundaries
And claiming all intentions true
My feelings were late whether by fault or by fate
Sorry is the best that I can do for now
I refuse to let it get to me
