Enhypen (Korean: 엔하이픈; RR: Enhaipeun; Japanese: エンハイプン; Enhaipun), commonly stylized as ENHYPEN, is a South Korean boy band formed by Belift Lab, a joint venture between CJ ENM and Hybe Corporation.
Formed through the 2020 survival competition show I-Land, the group is composed of seven members: Jungwon, Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, and Ni-ki.
Enhypen debuted on November 30, 2020, with the extended play (EP) Border: Day One.
The group's name, Enhypen, was introduced through the live-broadcast of the final episode of I-Land. According to etymology, Enhypen derives its name from the symbol Hyphen (-), that creates new meanings including "Connection, Discovery, & Growth". Similar to how a hyphen connects different words to discover new meanings, Enhypen aims "to come together to connect, discover and grow together to create a new act."
On May 25, 2021 Border: Carnival debuted at number 18 on the Billboard 200 Chart; just 6 months after debuting, Enhypen became the highest-charting 4th generation K-pop group on the chart. In addition, Enhypen was ranked 18 on Billboard Artist 100 Chart.
On July 6, 2021, Enhypen will make their Japanese debut with the single "BORDER : 儚い" (also known as Border: Hakanai or Border: Transient), which includes an original Japanese song and the Japanese versions of "Given-Taken" and "Let Me In (20 Cube)".
