In a forest dancing lush with green, a mouse once lived a joy serene
Among trees, leaves, and moonlight's play, his life went on in a simple way
One day a shadow quickly flew. The mouse was caught a voice he knew
Come with me to a better place, food and warmth and open space
He was taken to a world so neat, but like a copy far from complete
For me, stay fresh without delay, no threats around, just my sad play
At first it felt like pure delight, a life of ease, no fear in sight
Every mouse had all they need, no hunger, no hardship, no one to heed
But in this perfect world he'd find, a creeping madness in his mind
When life's too easy with battle's none, the heart grows cold, the mind undone
With time the joy would start to fade, order lost as shadows invade
The mice increased, their space grew small, and peace dissolved like nightfall's call
With food abundant every day, no trials to face, no games to play
Strong bodies turned to lazy frames, reflexes dulled, forgetting aims
New gangs arose, the stronger take. The weaker suffered in their wake
The loudest ruled, the rest grew meek, and smaller mice grew frail and weak
The mothers tired, their will would wink, leaving young ones to face the strain
No care, no warmth, no love to spare, affection lost in empty air
The crowd grew dense, the chaos spread, in nightfall's paradise all fled
Whilst joyful life now held in chains, their perfect world, a place of pain
And so the mouse began to yearn, for Fortis lost a grand return
Where risk for real, yet so was grace, a better life in a wilder place
As we too fill our lives with veins, forgetting joy that freedom brings
This modern race for wealth and show, leaves behind what hearts should know
A mouse that dances in mother's love, are greater than what we're dreaming of
When life is soaked and struggles cease, we lose our spirit of love and peace
For in that world trapped and confined, the lessons clear, simple and kind
When all is given, no challenge dear, the light grows dim, life disappears
