How dare this guy challenge me on what I was doing every morning
But I went home, and after the anger subsided
I became more rational
And if I was honest with you tonight, I'm telling you
I set out to prove that there was no God
So that I could go to the golf course on Sunday morning
And not have my conscience bother me
But one day in frustration
Driving down I-95, going to work
I just looked up and said, "God, I confess that I'm a sinner
If that's what selfishness is, then I'm a sinner"
And you know what happened? Nothing
I didn't see any angels
I didn't hear the Heavenly choir
I didn't have any sense of peace, I just puttered on down the road
Went to work
Got home that night, I'd almost forgot about the incident
And I picked up my Bible, see, I'm still tryna prove there's no God
And somebody messed with my book

I understood things that I didn't understand the night before
That's right, that's right
It says in the fourth chapter of Second Corinthians
"But there is a veil over the eyes of the unbeliever
That they can not discern the truth"
But it says in the third chapter
When you turn in repentance, that veil is lifted
And that veil was lifted
And I became a new creature in Christ Jesus
And my, you bet there was a change in my life
A change in my value system
A change in my understanding
And certainly a change in my concept of this person of Christ
Have you had your veil lifted tonight?
Let me tell you the great tragedy in modern America
The great tragedy is that many of us have never taken the time
To find out what living is all about
To find out what living's all about
And to answer, maybe
What I consider to be the most important question in life
Is there a God, and if there is, what must I do to be related to Him?

But there's this one detail that's kind of flowing through it
I came across this Billy Graham testimony

What did all that mean?
You know I've got a boat that's '99, was '96, it sits here
I don't know whether it'll ever get in the water again
That boat had tremendous memories to it
And I wouldn't trade that for anything
But when you look back
And you think, was that the most important thing that I could have done?
Or should I spend more time, you know
Studying God, and the bible, and-and being more sensitive in that area
And helping others
Well, Forrest there's no question that God has singled you out
To reach out to the younger generation
And I think that that's why God has been really working on you
And it's God anointed
And, but it's got a purpose
It's purpose is to reach that younger generation
And you happen to be that person

I have dear friends who've adopted children
And they said the hardest part was filling out the questionnaire
Asking you what kind of challenges you're willing to live with
What kind of disabilities, as the world would call them
You're okay with in a child that you're going to adopt
Like are you okay if they can't walk?
If they're paralyzed, if they're in a wheelchair and you've got to push them
Are you okay if they can't eat and they have a feeding tube?
Are you okay if they have some mental disabilities, they're not able to learn?
Or they're lacking cognitive functions
Their brain's not working as a, a normal brain would
Are those things that you're alright with?
And do you think, "Man, if I don't choose that child who will?
If I say I'm not okay with that
Then what's going to happen to that person, that living being?"
And what I love when I'm thinking about God adopting us
Is that He says I'll take that one
And I'll take the one that's stuck in pornography like a dog to his vomit
He keeps going back to his sin
I'll take her when she's starving herself
I'll take the one who looks in the mirror and hates what she sees
I'll take the person who sits with the razor blade, cutting their arm
I'll take the one who constantly thinks of them self
Walks into a room and wonders what everyone is saying about them or thinking about them
They're enslaved to their insecurity

There's no disqualifying disability that the Lord turns away
There's no one that God says, "Oh, they're too far gone, I can't save them
Jesus' blood is not enough," that he didn't die for them
Anyone who would trust in the death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ
For the forgiveness of sins can be adopted as God's children
We can be his kids, not his slaves
Not his workers, not people who are trying to earn our allowance
Not someone who's trying to earn a wage
But women and men
Who have been adopted by the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth
To be His children to call Him Abba Father
