This here tells the story of my day to day life
It possibly recounts the story of your day to day life too
I get home from work to the same routine
I'm the one making dinner
My wife stares at the screen
I'm watching the evening news
She's following up some lead
I say "let's go to bed"
She ignores me
But she does say
Ten more minutes I'll be right there
Four hours pass on by
Ten more minutes she just found something
She'll be staying up all night
I'm going to be sleeping alone
I'm going to wake up the very next morning
And find her exactly where I left her
She's going to be there
Sitting in front of the computer
Big bug eyes
Staring at the screen
But it doesn't end there oh no
This all carries into the weekend
Kinda like this
When the weekends come
I'd like to hit the scenes
But she's in hot pursuit
That means she's glued to her seat
There's this aching fire
Building up in me
I must admit
I want to burn all those shaking leaves
Every time she says
Ten more minutes I'll be right there
Four hours pass on by
Ten more minutes she just found something
She'll be staying up all night
So we live out the same scene almost everyday
We may be in the same room
But she's miles and miles away
Well that's my story
I apologize to any of you who
Live the same life I live
But this is just how it is
And how it will be
Maybe someday we'll be able to
Just look back and laugh about it right?
Right?
Not likely
