Green Day - Saviors Album Lyrics

Green Day - Saviors Lyrics

The American Dream Is Killing Me

The American Dream is killing me
The American Dream is killing me
When it's all double-talk of conspiracy
The American Dream is killing me

Send out an S.O.S
It's getting serious
Bulldoze your family home
Now it's a condo

We are not home
Are we not home?
Goddamn, I am so grateful
Forever faithful to

The American Dream is killing me
The American Dream is killing me

People on the street
Unemployed and obsolete
Did you ever learn to read the ransom note?

Don't want no huddled masses
TikTok and taxes
Under the overpass
Sleeping in broken glass

We are not well
Are we not well?
Cracked up into the wild
We're pedophiles for

The American Dream is killing me
The American Dream is killing me
When it's all double-talk of insanity
The American Dream is killing me
Say

From sea to shining sea
Whitewashed upon the beach
My country under siege
On private property

We are not home
Are we not home?
Kiss me, I'm dead inside
Who needs suicide when

The American Dream is killing me
The American Dream is killing me
When it's double-talk of insanity
The American Dream is killing me

Look Ma No Brains!

Don't know much about history
'Cause I never learned how to read
Drop out I'm a knucklehead
Sick boy and I shit the bed

Maybe I'm in love with a deviant
Maybe I got terminal vertigo

Slam danced on my face again
Nonsense is my heroin
Rude boy going comatose
Drop out and I'm adios

Maybe I'm in love with a deviant
Maybe I got terminal vertigo
I defy the science of the missing link
Oh God, I think I'm gonna lose my skull

I said look ma, I ain't got no brains
I'm a goner and I don't feel no pain
I'm with stupid and I'm all by myself
'Cause I'm special and I don't need your help

Well I'm gone, gone, gone and I'm far away
(Don't panic, don't panic)
Well I lost my head and I'm here to say
(Don't go, don't go)
Oh, mama, mama, mama, ma, I'm all grown up
(Don't panic, don't panic)
Well it's too late now for my suicide

I said look ma, I ain't got no brains
I'm a goner and I don't feel no pain
I'm with stupid and I'm all by myself
'Cause I'm special and I don't need your help

Bobby Sox

Do you wanna be my girlfriend?
I'll take you to a movie that we've already seen
Or sit at home and watch reruns
There's no other place I'd wanna be

Do you wanna be my girlfriend?
Do you wanna be my girlfriend?

Do you wanna be my boyfriend?
We'll walk the cemetery
And I'll kiss you again
And make our dead friends blush, oh whoa
We'll be getting married right there on the scene
Do you wanna be my best friend?
You can drive me crazy all over again
And I'll bore you to death, oh whoa
Doesn't matter when we are in love

Do you wanna be my boyfriend?
Do you wanna be my boyfriend?
Do you wanna be my boyfriend?
Do you wanna be my boyfriend?

You're not just any type of girl
Yeah
My one true love and you're my world
Yeah

Do you wanna be my girlfriend?
Do you wanna be my boyfriend?
Do you wanna be my boyfriend?
Do you wanna be my

Do you wanna be my girlfriend?
Do you wanna be my boyfriend?
Do you wanna be my boyfriend?
Do you wanna be my
Do you wanna be mine?

Do you wanna be mine?

One Eyed Bastard

I'm making an offer that you cannot deny
You won't be laughing when I'm making you cry
'Cause, ay-oh, I hear the pleas get louder
You son of a bitch, you're gonna beg and cower

Vendetta is a friend of mine
Revenge is sweeter than wine
I never asked to hear your god damned feelings
Get on your knees when you are kissing my ring

Bada bing, bada bing, bada boom
Bada bing, bada bing, bada boom

Well, I can remember all the bad memories
I never forget a face that's quite so ugly
Ay-oh, lost years are wasted
I always liked you, but I'm glad that you're all dead

Vendetta is a friend of mine
Revenge is sweeter than wine
I never asked to hear your god damned feelings
Get on your knees when you are kissing my ring

Bada bing, bada bing, bada boom
Bada bing, bada bing, bada boom

I'm making an offer that you cannot deny
You won't be laughing when I'm making you cry
'Cause, ay-oh, I hear the pleas get louder
You son of a bitch, you're gonna beg and cower

Dilemma

Welcome to my problems
It's not an invitation
This is my dilemma
And it's my obsession

I was sober, now I'm drunk again
I'm in trouble and in love again
I don't want to be a dead man walking
I don't want to be a dead man walking

Welcome to my nightmare
Where dreams go to disappear
Sit around in rehab
Feeling like a lab rat
Strange days are here again
And it's getting weirder
Here's to all my problems
I just want to drink a poison

I was sober, now I'm drunk again
I'm in trouble and in love again
I don't want to be a dead man walking
I don't want to be a dead man walking
I was sober, now I'm drunk again
I'm in trouble and in love again
I don't want to be a dead man walking
I don't want to be a dead man walking

Whoa, I, when I fall asleep tonight
On the wing and prayer, oh why?
For despair and obsession on you?
Ooh-ooh, yeah

I was sober, now I'm drunk again
I'm in trouble and in love again
I don't want to be a dead man walking
I don't want to be a dead man walking
I was sober, now I'm drunk again
I'm in trouble and in love again
I don't want to be a dead man walking
I don't want to be a dead man walking

1981

She's gonna bang her head like 1981
She's gonna bang her head like 1981 (so long, farewell)
She's gonna bang her head like 1981
She's gonna bang her head like 1981

She's throwing punches to the beat
To the sound of cable TV
And she'll never see the world the same
She is a Cold War in my head
And I am East Berlin
On the danger side of parts unknown

Coffee and cyanide for lovers in disgrace
If this is not a test, we got one foot in the grave

She's gonna bang her head like 1981
She's gonna bang her head like 1981 (so long, farewell)
She's gonna bang her head like 1981
She's gonna bang her head like 1981

Crimes from another time
Champagne and party lives
God bless the end of times
Pain, Commies and cocaine
Slam danced in acid rain
We'll live the dream for fifteen minutes of fame

She's gonna bang her head like 1981
She's gonna bang her head like 1981 (so long, farewell)
She's gonna bang her head like 1981
She's gonna bang her head like 1981 (so long, farewell)

Goodnight Adeline

Can you feel my pain?
Can you sing my sorrow?
Here comes a better day
But it's got nothing to do with tomorrow
I'm sick in bed again
My head is under my pillow
My spirit's broken
And my face is in the gutter singing

Goodnight, Adeline
You're gonna say goodbye and let it go
Sooner or later, whatever, whenever
Goodnight, baby, let it go

Somedays are holidays
Somedays you call your mother
Somedays you're sober
But you're still waking up with a hangover
I'm like a deadweight
I'm going to meet my maker
I'll see you later
When I get my shit together singing

Goodnight, Adeline
You're gonna say goodbye and let it go
Sooner or later, whatever, whenever
Goodnight, baby, let it go

Goodnight, Adeline
I'm gonna drink my wine and let it go
Sooner or later, whatever, whenever
Goodnight, baby, let it go

Coma City

Coma City
Open your eyes
Dead on arrival under smoky skies

Coma City (Coma City)
Children at play
Back from the chemist to mass on Sunday

A gun shot, gun shot heads
Shooting in the distance
It's on your face and hands with no resistance

Coma City (Coma City)
Pull down the shade
Board up the windows
And drink lemonade

Coma City (Coma City)
Don't call the cops
Word on the street is they all quit their jobs

A gun shot, gun shot heads
Shooting in the distance
It's on your face and hands
With no resistance

Coma City

Coma City
Open your eyes
Dead on arrival under smoky skies

Coma City (Coma City)
Mask on your face
Bankrupt the planet for assholes in space

A gun shot, gun shot heads
Shooting in the distance
It's on your face and hands with no resistance

Coma City (Coma City)
Coma City (Coma City)
Coma City (Coma City)

Corvette Summer

Get around, I can get around
F*ck it up on my rock n' roll
(Here we go now)
Get around, I can get around
Drop a bomb on my rock n' roll

I don't want no money
I don't want no fame
All I want's my records making
my pain go away
Maybe I'm stupid
Lazy and stray
Maybe I've had enough
of this shit brigade

(Here we go now)
Get around, I can get around
F*ck it up on my rock n' roll
(Here we go now)
Get around, I can get around
Drop a bomb on my rock n' roll

Taking a beating
Kicked in the head
Hit me with power chords
Before you lay me dead

Living in chaos
Sick and I'm bored
Take me to urgent care
Or the record store

(Here we go now)
Get around, I can get around
F*ck it up on my rock n' roll
(Here we go now)
Get around, I can get around
Drop a bomb on my rock n' roll

Get around, I can get around
F*ck it up on my rock n' roll
(Here we go now)
Get around, I can get around
Drop a bomb on my rock n' roll

Suzie Chapstick

Will I ever see your face again?
Not just photos from an Instagram
Will you say hello from across the street?
From a place and time we used to meet
Sometimes everything just grows apart
Broken pieces from a busted heart
Not even the drugs seem to work
Living in the shadows where we lurk

Outside my window before the sun comes up to shine
It's just another vacant, cold, and lonely night

Do you remember the jokes we told?
Rumors from a long, long time ago
Did we get over our innocence?
Did we take the time to make amends?
Will you dedicate a song to me?
Do you want me to just go away?
I just want to be your nobody
Is there any chance that I can stay?

Outside my window there is nothing but a sky
It's just another vacant, cold, and lonely night

Outside my window there is nothing but a sky
It's just another vacant, cold, and lonely night

Do you remember the jokes we told?
Rumors from a long long time ago
Did we get over our innocence?
Did we take the time to make amends?

Strange Days Are Here to Stay

We stumble down the avenue
Like fairy dust and ballyhoo
They promised us forever, but we got less
There's no such thing as promises
Just secret codes from alphabets
They promised us forever, but we got less

These are the best of times
Twisted and borrowed times
These are the loneliest of times

Strange days are here to stay
Ever since Bowie died, it hasn't been the same
All the madmen are going mental
Grandma's on the fentanyl now
Strange days are here to stay

Well, this is how the world will end
When superheroes play pretend
They promised us forever, but we got less
It's the return of the blob
And Jesus is gonna quit his job
He promised us forever, but we got less

These are the best of times
Twisted and borrowed times
These are the loneliest of times

Strange days are here to stay
Everyone is racist and the Uber's running late
I just lost my sense of humor
Gen-Z killing baby boomer now
Strange days are here to stay

Lonely boy with a heart made of hate
Baby Babylon
And making guns out of clay

Are we in hell or is this just a fantasy?
I can't see this ending well
Now that it's too late

Strange days are here to stay
Ever since Bowie died, it hasn't been the same
All the madmen are going mental
Grandma's on the fentanyl now
Strange days are here to stay

Strange days are here to stay
Strange days are here to stay

Living in the 20s

Another shooting in a supermarket
I spent my money on a bloody, soft target
Playing with my matches and I'm lighting Colorado
I got my scratcher and I'm gonna win the lotto

Congratulations, best of luck and blessings
We're all together and we're living in the '20s
Salutations on another era
My condolences
Ain't that a kick in the head?

I got a buzz like a murder hornet
I drink my media and turn it into vomit
I got a robot and I'm f*cking it senseless
It comes with batteries and only speaks in English

Congratulations, best of luck and blessings
We're all together and we're living in the '20s
Salutations on another era
My condolences
Ain't that a kick in the head?

Ain't that a kick in your head?

Congratulations best of luck and blessings
We're all together and we're living in the '20s
Salutations on another era
My condolences

Father to a Son

You're a lighthouse in a storm
From the day that you were born
A promise
Father to a son
Your mother said it best
We will be put to a test
A promise
Father to a son

Is there anything I can do?
Wisdom where your heart is heading to
A place you want more than I could give
Father to a son

Well, I made a few mistakes
But I'll never break your heart
A promise
Father to a son
I never knew a love
Could be scarier than anger
A promise
Father to a son

Is there anything I can do?
wisdom where your heart is heading to
A place you want more than I could give
Father to a son

Is there anything I can do?

Saviors

We've got a feeling like a flicker of light
Out of sight but like a halo
We're all waiting on the summer
But the sun is out of view
It's not a hero or a capital crime
Fall in love and falling in line
We're all passing like a viral echo to pass the time

Calling all saviors tonight
Make us all believers tonight
Calling all strangers tonight
Will somebody save us tonight?

I gotta chuckle what a dumb way to die
everything coming up roses
We are the last of the rockers making a commotion
We need a signal that's more heat than light
Waiting out the dead of winter
We don't need another bastard, let them scourge and fall

Calling all saviors tonight
Make us all believers tonight
Calling all strangers tonight
Will somebody save us tonight?

Everyone's asleep but nobody's dreaming
We got all the fiction that's worth believing

Calling all saviors tonight
Make us believers tonight
Calling all strangers tonight
Will somebody save us tonight?

Calling all saviors tonight
Make us all believers tonight
Calling all strangers tonight
Will somebody save us?

Fancy Sauce

Take me to the inn
Called the loony bin
Somewhere I can rest my head and take it on the chin
Flowers all in bloom
In my rubber room
Scratching at the wallpaper in my solitude

Go, go
Falling like a yo-yo
Paradise for locos
Medicate my sorrow
I'm not crazy
You're the one that's crazy
Everybody's crazy
Getting stoned and lazy
As we all die young someday
We all die young someday
We all die young and watch it slip away
We all die young someday

Howling at the moon
In the afternoon
Watch the evening news 'cause it's my favorite cartoon
Gonna join a cult
Do a somersault
Everyone's a victim and it makes me want to puke

Go, go
Falling like a yo-yo
Paradise for locos
Medicate my sorrow
I'm so famous
You're the one that's famous
Everybody's famous
Stupid and contagious
As we all die young someday
We all die young someday
We all die young and watch it slip away
We all die young someday
