Gregory Alan Isakov - Sweet Heat Lightning Lyrics
Official

Monsters beneath your bed
What's real, what's in your head

Moon's out
My mother's house is empty
Come and find me now

Sweet heat lightning falls
Blue crack of light and that's all
Calling you to sing
Calling you to sing

You drive, let's see where this ends
Let's let the wheels wear out

Sweet heat lightning falls
Blue crack of light and that's all
Calling you to sing

Calling you

Calling you to sing
Calling you to sing

Sweet Heat Lightning is the tenth track off Appaloosa Bones, a studio album by Gregory Alan Isakov.

In an interview with World Cafe, Isakov said of the making of the album: "I thought I was gonna make something very lo-fi, very simple. Almost like a lo-fi rock and roll record. I wanted old silver tones that are double amped and kind of dirty, [...] Then, the songs sort of presented themselves to me. It's sort of a co-creative process for me. I just follow along."

The song is very slow, very emotive, and almost folk-rock.
