Highly Suspect - The Boy Who Died Wolf Album Lyrics

Highly Suspect - The Boy Who Died Wolf Lyrics

My Name Is Human

Okay

I'm feeling the way that I'm feeling myself
F*ck everyone else
Gotta remember that nobody is better than anyone else, here
(Do you need some time to think it over?)
Look what they do to you
Look what they do to me
Must be joking if you think that either one is free, here

Get up off your knees, girl
Stand face to face with your God
And find out what you are
(Hello, my name is human)
Hello, my name is human
And I came down from the stars
(Hello, my name is human)

I'm ready for love and I'm ready for war
But I'm ready for more
I know that nobody's ever been this f*cking ready before, hey
(Do you need some time to think it over?)
So figure it out or don't figure it out
I figured it out
The bigger the river (the bigger the river)
The bigger the drought (the bigger the drought)

Get up off your knees, boy
Stand face to face with your God
And find out what you are
(Hello, my name is human)
Hello, my name is human
And I came down from the stars
(Hello, my name is human)

Fire world, I love you
Fire world

I'm up off my knees, girl
I'm face to face with myself
And I know who I am
(Hello, my name is human)
I stole the power from the sun
I'm more than just a man
(No longer disillusioned)

(I'm not asking questions)
('Cause questions have answers)
(And I don't want answers)
I came down from the stars (so I'll take my chances)
(And what are the chances)
(That I could advance)
(On my own circumstances)
(Said "what are the chances?")
Hello, my name is human (and what are the chances?)
(I don't want your answers)
(I'm not asking questions)
(So you keep your answers)
And I know who I am (so you keep your answers)
(I'm not asking questions)
(I'm taking my chances)

Look Alive Stay Alive

Sit down, shut up and let me buy you a drink
I'm done caring about what other people think
They don't know shit and neither do I
Just have another one and try to look alive

It's only natural
You're feeling the way that you do
One foot in front of the other
Just trying to keep your cool

'Cause there's monsters in the shadows
And they've got the urge to kill
So you'd better pay attention
'Cause if you don't, best believe that they will

Sit down, shut up and let me buy you a drink
I'm done caring about what other people think
They don't know shit and neither do I
Shut your mouth kid and try to stay alive

You put your hands together
Staring straight into the sky
'Cause you're still not cool with yourself
And you're still afraid to die

Well, congratulations, mister
You got that look in your eye
You think you're better than everyone
Well, you're f*cking not

Sit down, shut up and let me buy you a drink
I'm done caring about what other people think
They don't know shit and neither do I
Just have another one and try to stay alive

Sit down, shut up and let me buy you a drink
I'm done hearing what the rest of them think
They don't know shit and neither do I
Just have another one and try to stay

Little One

I'm cornered in fire so break out the secrets
I hope you know that you were worth it all along
I'm tired, you're angry, and everyone looks blurry
I love you, I'm leaving; so long

Hey, little one
I'm so scared of what this could have been
I know that today I lost my only friend
My little one

The places I took you, they seem so f*cking empty
I have trouble going anywhere at all
Especially my own bedroom
And it stays awake to haunt me
So passed out, black out, drunk in another bathroom stall

Hey, little one
I'm so scared of what this could have been
I know that today I lost my only friend

How long must I justify my pain through these songs?
How long, how long?

Hey, little one
I'm so scared of what this could have been
I know that today I lost my only little one (my little one)
I'm so scared of what this could have been
I know that today I lost my only friend

How long must I talk about my pain in these songs?
How long?

It's raining, it's sunny
It doesn't make a difference
I don't care about anything at all

It's raining, it's sunny
It doesn't make a difference
I don't care about anything at all

For Billy

And it goes 3, 2, done
We always knew that you were the wild one
Oh, oh

But you flew too close to a burning sun
At least we got it in when we were young
I know

It still feels like yesterday
I'll love you always

Do you remember back in the day that party at Dave's?
You said that you had nothing to lose
Oh, no

Then I should've listened up, but I f*cked up
Laughed it off and told you you had nothing to prove
(Had nothing to prove)
Oh, oh

It still feels like yesterday
I'll love you always

And I promise I'll see you on the other side
We'll get high and go out for another ride
I promise I'll see you on the other side

Still feels like yesterday
I'll love you always

And when my time's up
I'll come over and
Say what's up
Punch your shoulder
'Cause I'll love you always

I promise I'll see you on the other side
We'll get high and go out for another ride
I promise I'll see you on the other side

We'll get stoned
We'll get drunk
We'll get by

Serotonia

I wish that everyone I knew was dead
So that I'd never have to pick up the phone
I just wanna be naked
And masturbate all day at home
California dreamin'
Oh my heart just started screamin'
I think I want to be alive
I wish I lived on top of the sunset
Yeah cause Hollywood you know my type
I'll get stoned all night with Lana
Half in and half out of the light
It's California dreamin'
Yeah
Oh my heart just started screamin'
I think I wanna be alive
I can feel it too
So what am I waiting for?
I'm afraid of you
It's just I'm not that good of a person
But I might be enough for you

I'm gonna move to California
I'm gonna melt into the sand
Slow dance with Elizabeth Taylor
And Audrey
Bum a cigarette from Cary Grant
Now New York you know I love you
Because you made me who I am
Which is not that good of a person
I need to feel something again
I can feel it too
So what am I waiting for
I'm afraid of you
It's just I'm not that good of a person
But I might be enough for you
And I got enough love for two
I can feel it too
I'm afraid of you
It's just I'm not that good of a person
But I might be enough for you

Postres

Oh, life is incredible
Oh, when the sun is in your eyes

Life is kind of like a video game
Bigger than it looks and fundamentally strange
Then you die, that's why
I'm eating snacks and chilling with babes
And I don't really give a flying f*ck what you say
'Cause I'm high, yeah so high up on my way

Oh, life is incredible
Oh, when the sun is in your eyes

I'm sick and tired of these negative people
Who fill their hearts with hatred and hide inside of a steeple like
Wake up, try not to suck
I'm having fun for the rest of my days
Yo quiero chicas y yo quiero postres, that's right
It's alright with me

It's like haven't you had enough?
Why you gotta act so tough?
Please, take a good look around and tell me what you see
It's right in front of your eyes

Oh, life is incredible
Oh, when the sun is in your eyes

So on and on and on it goes
(On and on it goes)
Oh, the sun is in my eyes

On and on and on it goes
(On and on it goes)
So ask me what I'm counting on
(Nothing anymore)

It's a physical phenomenon
(On and on it goes)
On and on and on it goes
(On and on it goes)

Send Me An Angel

[ Originally by Real Life ]

Do you believe in Heaven above?
Do you believe in love?
Don't tell a lie, don't be false or untrue
It all comes back to you

Open fire on my burning heart
I've never been lucky in love
My defenses are down, a kiss or a frown
I can't survive on my own

If a girl walks in and carves her name in my heart
I'll turn and run away
Everyday we've all been led astray
It's hard to be lucky in love

It gets in your eyes, it's making you cry
Don't know what to do, don't know what to do
You're looking for love calling heaven above

Send me an angel
Send me an angel
Right now, right now
Send me an angel
Send me an angel
Right now

Empty dreams can only disappoint
In a room behind your smile
Don't give up, don't give up
You can be lucky in love

It gets in your eyes, it's making you cry
Don't know what to do, don't know what to do
You're looking for love calling heaven above

Send me an angel
Send me an angel
Right now, right now
Send me an angel
Send me an angel
Right now
Right now

Send me an angel
Send me an angel
Right now, right now
Please send me an angel
Won't you send me an angel
Right now

Oh, send me an angel
Send me an angel
Right now
Send me an angel
Send me an angel
Right now

Viper Strike

Oh, you're racist
Geez, that's neat
Get the f*ck up out my face with that shit
Man let's beat
Your thoughts are ugly
They're not wanted
Aaaaaand they're dumb
See, its MCID and we try to spread love, but
Man, you make me want to take off my gloves, because
Guns don't kill people, white people kill black people with guns
Is it hard to hear?

We're all equal
Except for you
'Cause you're an asshole with an ugly point of view
And your insecurities
Can't you see, they're driving me insane
Maybe in one day
They will conquer all
But in the mean time, uh

Oh, you're homophobic
Wow, what a bitch
I almost wanna blow your mind and just go suck a dick
I see you're clutching that cross pretty hard though
A lot of those motherf*ckers are gay
Like in a "hide your kids" kind of way
And Jesus wasn't even white on his whitest days
So I guess you just went backwards has to jump anyway

We're all equal
Except for you
'Cause you're an asshole with an ugly point of view
And your insecurities
Can't you see, they're driving me insane
Maybe in one day
They will conquer all
But in the mean time, uh

We're all equal
Except for you
'Cause you're an asshole with an ugly point of view
And your insecurities
Can't you tell, they're driving me insane
Maybe in one day
They will conquer all
But in the mean time, you can try to build your walls
Our generation
We're taking over
Hope we don't die with that
Chip on your shoulder
Maybe in one day

Chicago

Why am I f*cking up so bad?
What am I even doing?
When am I ever gonna learn?
What it is she already knows

Baby, I met you in downtown Chicago
But I, I had to drive away the very next day
So I, flew your pretty ass to New York City
Then I, I left you in L.A

Was it love or my fantasy?
Was it real or just a dream?

Remember one night getting too f*cked up in the Hamptons at Tom's
I fell off his bike, and girl, you laughed at me so hard
Spent a whole week getting drunk on the dunes of Cape Cod, that's when you met my father

Was it love or my fantasy?
Was it real or just a dream?
Was it love or my fantasy?

Cause sometimes you get so angry
And I take it personal
And I should've known
That you were only hurting
Cause life can be uncertain
When you're only 19 years old

So it's another late night out here in California
And I'm, I'm burying my pain into somebody else
And now you're back at home living with your mama
Got my first record sitting on your shelf

Was it love or my fantasy?
Was it real or just a dream?
Was it love or my fantasy?
Was it real?

Well baby I met you in downtown Chicago
But I, had to drive away the next day
So I, flew your pretty ass to New York City
Then I, I left you in L.A

Wolf

You think you know me
I wish I did too
'Cause everything's changing
And I am changing too

It's not a question
This shit is real
And it's hard to look back
But it's harder to move on
Funny, it's a good time
For a timeless song

I gave you my heart
Gave you my soul
Yeah, but baby, I was born to rock and now I gotta roll
I'm moving on, yeah I gotta let go
Yeah, 'cause baby, I was born to rock and now I gotta roll

No one pretends the way I do
It's so hard to hear the truth
You've got your reasons, so do I
I like to dream, 'cause dreams don't lie

I'll play along, like nothing's wrong
Baby I love you, But the moon is blue

Do you remember, we were young?
Imagination filled our lungs
Wolf, don't make a helpless move
You see me and I see you

So play along, like nothing's wrong
Baby I love you, But the moon is blue

Let's play along
Oh, until I'm gone
Is it in my head?
Sometimes I wish that I was
