Jacob Dillard - Drought Lyrics

Jacob Dillard - Drought Lyrics
Official

Back in the farming lands
The dirt turned into sand
Not a drop of water fell
The drought came from hell
The clouds overhead
Just taunted them till they were dead
A false since of hope
The farmers had to cope
But one farmer had a plan
To escape the barren land
He didn't know what it would take
So he took of through the pines
And left behind
His hoe and rake
Well little did he know
It's not that easy to just go
He had nowhere to work
He was used to fertile dirt
The sand beneath his feet
Was the cause of his defeat
Well he wasn't much on moving around
But he's now the gypsy in town
This one farmer had a plan
To escape the barren land
But he didn't know what it would take
So he took off through the pines
And left behind
His hoe and rake
