James Booth - The Great Divide, Pt. 1 Lyrics

James Booth - The Great Divide, Pt. 1 Lyrics

[ Featuring The Return ]

And once again, Ladies and Gentlemen, Acheron Airlines Rocket 773
Non-stop voyage from New Rourke City to Los Chrysalis
Will be sealing the doors shortly
All occupants must be onboard at this time
Acheron Airlines 773 from New Rourke City to Los Chrysalis
This is your final boarding call

The Warlocks took a breath
And stepped into the rocket ship
With a matchbox full of miracles
In hand

One fastened up his belt
And smiled across the gallery
To the other looking wistfully
Away

For though they knew of deeper cracks
It was the leap across the great divide
A roll of marbles for their jacks
At least that was how one felt deep inside
The other one cried

The Rocket leapt to life
And took off for the Stratosphear
With the lights of the Etherium
In view

And soon enough in time
They looked upon Scheherazade
That Holy wood metropolis
Of lights

And they knew it was a trap
But still they flew across the great divide
To get their buckles strapped
Before the greater powers surely spied
The Warlocks in flight

And one said

All I wanted was to move to a beautiful town
And not to let the winters get me down
I didn't come for drama
Just to play mellow samba
With some friends o'mine
While I could play the clown

And so I said goodbye to the Warlocks of Mars
And made off for the blue planet green
And so I said goodbye to the feelings of old
For the most beautiful thing I've ever seen
In the postcards anyway

Send me postcards, said the howling swan
Did my postcards ever arrive
Sent out a signal to the one that's gone
Was my signal ever live
Did you go"Shoop Shoop"
To the fountain on Wilshire
Did you go"Shoop Shoop"
To the statue on Vine
Did you go and see shops
Just to ponder and pilfer
Did you see all of the tourists
Who are sucking down wine

Best of luck, they said before we took flight
Here's to hoping that you'll succeed
Don't mind the darkness, beware of the light
Cause the sun has terminal greed

He said, just let me know
If you ever come out
He said just let me know
And we will have a good time
He said it quite secure
In his absolute doubt
He said it quite secure
Yes, until I arrived

And then he's gone
Yes now he's Gone
