Bathed in the warmth of a hospital tree,
A fairylight tidal wave washed over me
It's been stuck in a cupboard all year
But I'm desperately glad that it's here,
Cos in the midst of emergencies all around
Somebody gave it a tinsel crown.
And in its own magical way,
That shaggy old tree seems to say,
I won't let you down.
Snug in your bed at a quarter-to-three
It's happy hour here in this crammed AE,
And the doctors and nurses are wrecked.
But somehow they still found a sec
To cut paper-chain snowflakes and string em up
To make you eggnog in a recyclable cup.
And when you're feeling less than okay
The hospital tree whispers,
Hey, I won't let you down.
Anything you ever need, I'll come running.
Anything you want at all, I can do.
Anywhere, I will be there I'll come running.
I'll come running, I'll come running right to you.
I won't let you down.
