I carried guilt like chains, heavy and cold,
Tried to fix it myself, but it only took a stronger hold.
Late nights staring at the ceiling, drowning in my shame,
But when I laid it down at the cross, everything changed.
I thought I could handle it, thought I had control,
But the deeper I went, the darker it stole.
Then I heard His voice, a whisper so clear,
"Give it to Me, child, I'll carry it here."
THE WEIGHT IS GONE, I AM FREE AT LAST!
The chains of my past are broken, they've passed.
Jesus took it all, the burden, the blame,
Now I'm standing tall, forever changed.
I'm walking lighter, my heart's aglow,
'Cause I gave it all to the One who knows.
I was chasing shadows, lost in the fight,
Trying to fill the void that stole my light.
But His hands reached down, pulled me from the deep,
And gave me a promise that my soul could keep.
I thought I was alone, with no way out,
But Jesus broke through every fear and doubt.
Now I see the road, it's clear as day,
With every step, I'm walking His way.
The weight is gone, I'm free at last,
The chains of my past are broken, they've passed.
Jesus took it all, the burden, the blame,
Now I'm standing tall, forever changed.
I'm walking lighter, my heart's aglow,
'Cause I gave it all to the One who knows.
Now when the world gets heavy, I know where to go,
At the foot of the cross, I let it all flow.
No more picking it up, no more looking back,
I'm free in His love, nothing I lack.
The weight is gone, I'm free at last,
The chains of my past are broken, they've passed.
Jesus took it all, the burden, the blame,
Now I'm standing tall, forever changed.
I'm walking lighter, my heart's aglow,
'Cause I gave it all to the One who knows.
So if you're holding tight, to what's weighing you low,
It is time....
Just let it go.
