This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long
This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long
From the depths of my soul
To the heights of the sky
I seek the source of my
Righteousness, and ask why?
So I'll cherish the old rugged cross
Till my trophies at last I lay down
I will cling to the old rugged cross
And exchange it some day for a crown
Is it in my actions
Or the words that I say?
Or is it from a higher power
Who shows me the way?
I believe that it's not in myself
But in Him above
The one who offers grace
Mercy, and who is Love
So I'll cherish the old rugged cross
Till my trophies at last I lay down
I will cling to the old rugged cross
And exchange it some day for a crown
It's in the cross
Where He took my place
And paid the price for my sin
And showed me His grace
So I put my trust in Him
And in Him alone
And in His righteousness
I find my way home
So I'll cherish the old rugged cross
Till my trophies at last I lay down
I will cling to the old rugged cross
And exchange it some day for a crown
This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long
This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long
