Jimmy Stanley - Fiona Lyrics

Jimmy Stanley - Fiona Lyrics
Official

I always liked the name Fiona for an apple
I'd take a big bite and apologize after
I think about the breeze atop her snowy mountain
The meteorologist whose job it is to count it
And whistle out the pressure boiling for attention
Devise my own way with every new amendment
And every day is new excitement freshly minted
Then limping to the finish line with no clue how to end it
She puts the book down and rakes her hands through her hair
She could be anywhere but she has chosen me
And in the noise she drowns and I dive in to save her
She'll let you if you make her if you never waver
My dreams don't take me to some meadow in a valley
But I'm happy that you can have your little good day grand finale
No as I'm nodding off I'm washed away to sea
With an erased last cry into the night finally
Then I wake in bed soaking wet with tired feet
Like I sleepwalked home from where I landed per the tide on the beach
I made a commotion you thought I'd died or snuck out smoking
But I don't smoke or have the words to make you know or notice me
And I'm still drowning more than an hour after you found me
She wasn't out there tried my best
It all feels unfair
Failed my test
I always liked the name Fiona
Her and I play this game
It starts when I dive in to save her
I swim down into her coma
We make sense of the danger
A fitting place for me but not for Fiona
We're each other's saviors
By choice or not we're here
And that's what god gave us
From in my sleep or some kind of coma
I come back beat and live for me and Fiona
