Life's a mystery ain't it
Not a perfect world the picture painted
Pencil fading, left escaping the life you hated
Not the faintest idea of where you going
Just been flowing, holding it down
Keep it inside, flip the frown
Don't tell em how you really feel
It's gets too real I start to feel
I'm pushing you away I need you close
Hold me down I need you most
Keep the boat afloat I sail towards
My life worth living, a life with healing
Time heals wounds is the biggest lie
It's all inside and the time covers the pain you hide
It's mighty fine the life of why
Question this and question that
Regrets on the past and my mind on the fact
That I didn't do enough to make it
Put this out and my heart feels naked
Open up and I'm left with facing
The words I spoke and now I'm chasing
The picture perfect world I painted
Paint falling down
Dripping down and drown
Colors fade seasons change
The way we paint how we create
The life we live
Paint the picture with my sins
Clear the canvas starts again
Grab the brush and paint the end
Start to finish the journeys just began
It's a beauty ain't it the world of art
It comes from the heart when the hearts been broken
Left in tears and the souls wide open
Spew it out lay it on the table
Cut it up like I know I'm Abel
I'm limping now so I grab the cane
The minds a place that's filled with pain
It controls your thoughts and then your days
These are thoughts when I speak out loud
I write it down so get it out, but it's not enough
From the outside the picture painted looks amazing
Don't see the marks don't see the scuffs that was covered lately
The paint brush was weighing heavy
The colors painted were changing daily
Fading maybe, I see em draining
So I paint em up with a new coat
New colors, new flow, who knows
Maybe one day I'll paint it gold
I'll step outside and see the world as a beautiful place, no lies or hate
It's a big wish but the words you say turn to worlds you paint
The mind itself is a powerful place
Paint falling down
Dripping down and drown
Colors fade seasons change
The way we paint how we create
The life we live
Paint the picture with my sins
Clear the canvas starts again
Grab the brush and paint the end
Start to finish the journeys just began
The past was a picture I ran from
And I paint now like I learned something
And I hurt still I don't feel nothing
So I deal with it when sing some
But I still got a problem with the reruns
Life's a price with no refunds
But ain't that what makes it real?
Each second of the day a movie reel
With no reverse
I prayed the verse like I was Sam Jack
And hoped the days would come to pass
My mind on the fact, pay time to the past, I hate that I have a price tag
On a life worth living
Feeling livid the paint starts dripping
The world stops spinning
Stuck in a circle of endless feelings
But your outlook shapes everything
See obstacles as evolving or see challenges as your coffin
What you see is what you make it
The house you paint is the house you live in
It can tear you down or build your spirit
Not a perfect world the picture painted
Life's a mystery ain't it
Paint falling down
Dripping down and drown
Colors fade seasons change
The way we paint how we create
The life we live
Paint the picture with my sins
Clear the canvas starts again
Grab the brush and paint the end
Start to finish the journeys just began
