SILENCE
KERRY PATRICK CLARK
We came to watch the sunset settle on the ocean
To end the first day of forever on this beach
Once the the sun began to sink we turned we did not blink
We were hoping for a site that's seldom seen
We heard all the old folk say that they had seen it
You'll never know just when the atmosphere agrees
When that last one ray of light disappears from site
There's a beam a burst a flash of emerald green
CHORUS
Love does not need words
Love's the sound that's heard in
Silence silence
Love turns dirt and dust
Into a holy hush
It's that space between the things that make the noises
It's in the knowing what the other one's not said
It's when words are out of reach it's when standing on a beach
We share something that takes away our breath
All the old folks smile and nod as they remember
The very first time their hearts stood upon this shore
They too came to see heard the same thing we
W did not know that we were hoping for
CHORUS
There was a perfect pause
An audience applauded
Silence silence
Silhouettes at dusk
All the world in us and
Silence silence
Love does not need words
Love's the sound that's heard in
Silence silence
Love turns dirt and dust
Into a holy hush
