Kesha - Praying Lyrics

Kesha - Praying Lyrics
Official

Well, you almost had me fooled
Told me that I was nothing without you
Oh, but after everything you've done
I can thank you for how strong I have become

'Cause you brought the flames and you put me through hell
I had to learn how to fight for myself
And we both know all the truth I could tell
I'll just say this is "I wish you farewell"

I hope you're somewhere prayin', prayin'
I hope your soul is changin', changin'
I hope you find your peace
Falling on your knees, prayin'

I'm proud of who I am
No more monsters, I can breathe again
And you said that I was done
Well, you were wrong and now the best is yet to come
'Cause I can make it on my own, oh
And I don't need you, I found a strength I've never known
I'll bring thunder, I'll bring rain, oh
When I'm finished, they won't even know your name

You brought the flames and you put me through hell
I had to learn how to fight for myself
And we both know all the truth I could tell
I'll just say this is "I wish you farewell"

I hope you're somewhere prayin', prayin'
I hope your soul is changin', changin'
I hope you find your peace
Falling on your knees, prayin'

Ah sometimes, I pray for you at night, oh
Someday, maybe you'll see the light
Whoa oh, some say, in life, you're gonna get what you give
But some things only God can forgive

Yeah! (I hope you're somewhere prayin', prayin')
I hope your soul is changin', changin'
I hope you find your peace
Falling on your knees, prayin'

Kesha - Praying Video
(Show video at the top of the page)

• Kesha spent 2016 on her third world tour, the Kesha and the Creepies: F**k the World Tour, which commenced on July 23, 2016.

• "Praying" was written sometime between January 2014, when Kesha checked herself into a rehab clinic, and October 2016, when she completed her tour.

• Prior to its release, Kesha premiered "Praying" and four other songs from Rainbow at a press playback in London. There, she expressed her feelings about the song, saying “I’ve never been more excited about a piece of art I’ve ever done in my entire life. This is truly from the inside of my guts.

• In a letter posted to Lena Dunham's feminist blog Lenny Letter, she wrote: “I have channeled my feelings of severe hopelessness and depression, I’ve overcome obstacles, and I have found strength in myself even when it felt out of reach. I’ve found what I had thought was an unobtainable place of peace. This song is about coming to feel empathy for someone else even if they hurt you or scare you. It’s a song about learning to be proud of the person you are even during low moments when you feel alone. It’s also about hoping everyone, even someone who hurt you, can heal."
