Krazy Kyle Lapointe - Ignorance Lyrics

I remember when it seemed so easy to be anything I wanted to be
You know we tell our children that- we make believe
But then they grow up and they realize
That the world is f*cked, free will's a lie
I remember when that happened to me
Forced to open my eyes

That's when I lost myself to survive
I lost myself and I got by

Sitting under the streetlight at 3 AM
The world is calm but for the siren call
Drunk as shit this man stumbles up to me
"Let me tell you a story that you'll never believe
There was a time with an earth without people here
No dark or light, just natural order"
His drunk words reminded me of my time so long ago

But then I lost myself, a crucial part of myself one day
I may find myself yet though

If we all got paid for equivalent labour
If animals and humans lived as equals together
If we controlled our faith, minds and bodies
If we chose to hear the beatings going in the alleys
When no more children lose a mother or father
Who's gone to war and died for cash or honour
When the human race learns to draw the line
When it doesn't give you cancer to play outside
When we're not judge for what we are but who we are
When people vote in favour of their own power
When the foundation of this world rots and it topples over

Then I may have myself again
I wouldn't have to pretend
That we've been doing it right all along
Or that this world is just a phase
Or that we could all grow up and still say young
Then I'll have myself, a crucial part of myself again
Then my search'll be done
If only it were ever possible
