Now and then I remember how it used to feel with you
In the orange of September or in April's hazy blue
All the colours swirl together in my head every once in a while
They've faded with the seasons but still conjure up a smile

Crumpled by the seasons
Leaves break from their home and attempt to fly

And the wind sounds just like it did that day, it sounds practically the same
It carries the same scent through the same place, none of the scenery has changed
The same tired sun floats overhead, hinting winter's coming soon
The only thing missing here is you

And the sun had never seemed so weary, the leaves never so discoloured
This wind had never chilled my bones in this same unforgiving way
We'd lie atop the leaves and wouldn't think a thing
It was all another chapter of love, another promise of the spring
