All my friends live in the supermarket
They wave to me as I stroll up and down the aisles
With shoulders back and head held high
They wait to be selected with a smile
Every can and box and bottle is hoping
I'll be the one to take it home
They wink and say, "Hey good lookin'"
And there's a can of peas that even writes me poems
Now the crumpled boxes and dented cans
Make me said I don't understand
How life can be cruel and it breaks my heart
When I pass the discount shopping cart
All my friends live in the supermarket
We share our fondest childhood memories
I was talking to some cans of tuna
They said they grew up swimming in the sea
Now the vitamins are the most intelligent
Our conversations can run pretty deep
But they throw the wildest parties
And when they do nobody gets to sleep
After closing time and everyone's gone
They jump off the shelves and have some fun
They dance and sing and run around and play tag
And have sack races in the shopping bags
All my friends live in the supermarket
