We wear our masks to hide the truth
Of the beast that dwells in me and you

Our darker half begs to be free
Whispers of violence, flashes of lust
Thoughts that make us recoil in disgust
Yet they're a part of who we are
Our inner demon, our guiding star
The dance begins, the mask starting to crack
No longer can we hold the darkness back
It seeps through crevices, floods our mind
Leaving our false facade behind
We wear our masks, but they're wearing thin
Can't hide the chaos that burns within
In shadowed corners of our soul
The other self demands control
Embrace the darkness, let it breathe
Accept the thoughts that make you seethe
For light and dark are intertwined
Two halves of one divided mind
The mask is shattered, illusions fade
We stand exposed, no longer afraid
Our darker self, once kept at bay
Now walks beside us in the light of day
No more denial, no more shame
Our shadow self and us - the same
Two sides of one coin, finally whole
Darkness and light share one soul
We've shed our masks, embraced our core
The beast within locked up no more
In acceptance, we find our strength
Whole at last, throughout life's length
