He travels alone
With no end point in sight, he stays as he likes
He travels by train
When it pulls into town he ought to look around
But the old town seems abandoned and all quiet
He strays and explores but his calls return only silence
He spends too much time
Now the last train has passed and light will not last
He puts down for the night
But the strange empty town starts to make sound
In fact it's a town of cats
Over the bridge nearing fast
There's a tower where he can hide
From the cats and all through the night
He watches them all
They light up the lights and the market arises
This is their town
And they live as he would, he's not sure what he should do
At the break of day the cats all leave the way that they came
He could wait for the train but decides that he will remain
The third night something's wrong
There is bustle below they look high and low
Do you smell human above
That's it he's done, there's nowhere to run
But he can't be seen by the cats
They were sure they smelled a man
Relieved now he can get away
On the first train at the station
Uneasy he waits for the train
But it never comes here again
He is irretrievably lost
And he knows it's no town of cats
