Crash and fold
Stretch in and out
Roll me up and throw me
Tumble me about
Let me taste your salt and glide on your tide
Scratch my knees and heel me stay by my side
Ocean blue you feel so new
Fresher than the day, you're calling my way
I open up my eyes, feeling so bright
I am so alive when I'm amongst your tides
And in the Summer I dive beneath your skin
And in the Summer you openly let me in
And in the Summer you give us relief from the sun
And in the Summer you make us see the damage we've done
Crash and fold
Stretch in and out
Roll the plastic up and throw it
Tumble it about
Let them taste the micro-pieces you make
And glide upon your tide, scratch their insides and try to heal them
Ocean blue
You don't look so new
Trash thrown away into your waters it strays
It's hard to open up my eyes
Because this sight isn't bright
I am alive
But my actions kill your tides
And I ask
What makes us think we can treat you this way
You give us food you give us fun, relief from the sun
You give us life, you give us laughs, you are our blue heart
And now we must look after you, to ensure that we are too.
