It was just like any other day
Up with the sun to wake and bake
Out to the porch where I keep my stash
Just to find a hole chewed in the sack
Well the contents scattered on the ground
Leaving a trail around the house
Straight to the culprit staring back at me
With bloodshot eyes and furry feet
There's a stoned cat in my neighborhood
Unlike me he's probably feeling good
Laying in the tall grass looking up at the sky
Wishing to be a bird so he could be
High all the time
Right now he's probably stuck up in a tree
Thinking this is all just one big conspiracy
Well I bet he ain't even thought twice about me
Here trying to light a stalk of celery
There's a stoned cat in my neighborhood
Unlike me he's probably feeling good
Laying in the tall grass looking up at the sky
Wishing to be a bird so he could be
High all the time
He's writing songs about love and happiness
And speaking out against the establishment
I swear this is how the whole thing went
Or maybe yet that sack never really had a hole in it
