Mushroomhead is an American industrial metal band from Cleveland, Ohio. Formed in 1993 in Cleveland Warehouse District, the band is known for their avant-garde industrial metal-based sound and imagery which includes masks and costumes as well as their unique live shows usually performed at smaller venues. -Wikipedia

• group adopted psuedonyms and decided to wear costumes/masks to differentiate themselves from their other projects

• their second show ever was opening for GWAR

• from 1999 to 2009, Mushroomhead had an on-and-off rivalry with Slipknot The feud began (mostly among fans) due to the image similarities between the bands; such as the masks and costumes worn on stage.

• Mushroomhead video director, maskmaker and make-up artist Dave Henson Greathouse competed in Season 4 of the SyFy series "Face Off", a special effects prosthetic makeup reality show competition.

Skinny

Just from me being into hardcore techno, and writing a lot of it. That was one of the things that got me into sampling, and drum machines, and sequencers in the first place. I was into the hardcore "Gabba music." I started listening to a lot of that in 90 - 92 and you're talking 184 beats per minute (bpm) almost borderline noise. Really aggressive. The rest of these guys hate it, but I was really into it.
