Above the hill I saw a cloud of swallows
Their swift flight intrigued me
I climbed the hill
In the dale below I saw the House of Swallows
It was a two story dwelling of advanced age
The glass had fallen from the windows
The doors sagged or were missing
Bricks had been blown off the chimney
It was a relic
A partially shattered ruin
However, it was also a glorious series of apartments
The apartments were built of mud
They were swallows nests
And there were, oh
So many of them
Family and community life was in full swing
Such activity
So many communications
In and out the windows
Darting through the doors
Lively swallows sped
Feeding their young
Flying just for fun
Communicating as swallows do
Their blissful twittering
