N8 - Genesis Intro Lyrics

N8 - Genesis Intro Lyrics
Official

Welcome
You are now listening to, Reborn, and
This is the introduction
Before you go into this project
I just wanna quickly share my testimony with you
Before I was saved by Christ
I was an atheist
I was smoking weed since the age of fourteen, and
Started popping pills at the age of sixteen
Drugs and girls were my escape
I thought they could fill voids, but
I was still left empty
Life was pretty rough
I had no direction, no true guidance
I was lost, lonely, anxious, and depressed at times
Sometimes I battled with suicidal thoughts
I tried my best to keep filling these voids, but
It seemed as if nothing worked
Nothing could truly satisfy the pain
The cry in my heart
I was longing for something, that could change everything
God placed some people in my life, and
They showed me the love of Christ, and
How he could change me and save me
I started to look back at all the times that I should've gone to jail
The times that I should've died, and
I realized that it's by his grace and His love for me
That I'm still here and alive today
Shortly after, I quit drugs, cold turkey
With no withdrawals at all
God was truly with me through it
I no longer battle with suicidal thoughts
Although at times depression and anxiety still tries to creep in
It's up to me to call on His name, so He can be my strength
I've been sober for a little over two years now, and
I don't say these things to talk about myself or to boast in myself, but
I say it to show and prove that if He can do it for me, He can also do it for you
I was baptized on July 1st. 2018, on my twentieth birthday
It was the start of something new, something fresh
New life, a new goal, new purpose
I now have true identity
I became a new creation in Christ, and
This was the beginning
This was my Genesis
