Parmalee - For You Album Lyrics

Parmalee - For You Lyrics

Only You

Only you could ever break my heart
'Cause you're the only one that's got it
Only you could ever outshine the stars
The only eyes that I get lost in

I love you, no makeup
Hair messed up, my t-shirt
The songs that you make up
Nobody but me's heard
Oh, girl, in case you didn't know

I love the way your accent comes out when you're talking to your mama
How you act like you don't know you're hot in your pajamas
And the way that you kiss me when I'm drinking whiskey with you
(Only you, only you, only you, only you)
I love the way we take it downtown on Fridays, easy on them Sundays
Swinging on that porch swing, underneath that moon
Yeah, there's millions of people to love in this world but for me, girl, there's only you
(Only you, only you, only you, only you)

Only you could ever know my scars
'Cause you're the only one I'm telling (yeah)
Only you could make me fall this hard
Take me all the way to heaven

I love the way your accent comes out when you're talking to your mama
How you act like you don't know you're hot in your pajamas
And the way that you kiss me when I'm drinking whiskey with you
(Only you, only you, only you, only you)
I love the way we take it downtown on Fridays, easy on them Sundays
Swinging on that porch swing, underneath that moon
Yeah, there's millions of people to love in this world but for me, girl, there's only you

I love you, no makeup
Hair messed up, my t-shirt
The songs that you make up
Nobody but me's heard
Oh, girl, in case you didn't know

And the way that you kiss me when I'm drinking whiskey with you, yeah

Just The Way

I love you just the way God made you
Girl, he don't make mistakes
What you call your imperfections
I call beautiful, babe
(Tell 'em, Blanc)

The way your hair's in a mess in the morning
When you open your eyes
The way an hour goes by
When you say that you'll be ready in five, yeah, uh
The little dimple on the side of your smile
When you're laughing
At a movie that you've seen about a thousand times
You know, girl, that I can't lie

I love you just the way God made you
Girl, he don't make mistakes
What you call your imperfections
I call beautiful, babe
So let my eyes be your mirror
And you're bound to see it too
'Cause I was made for loving
Just the way God made you

(God made you)
Just the way, just the way
Just the way, just the way
God made you
(God made you)
Just the way, just the way
Just the way, just the way
God made you, yeah

The flush in your cheeks when you're mad
But you say that you're not (yeah)
And the shape of the face
That you make when you're taking a shot (taking a shot)
The little white lie that you told the security guard
At the hotel pool when we got caught
Yeah, I was thinking, girl
You never looked so hot (you never looked so hot)

And that I love you just the way God made you
Girl, he don't make mistakes
What you call your imperfections
I call beautiful, babe
So let my eyes be your mirror
And you're bound to see it too
'Cause I was made for loving
Just the way God made you

(God made you)
Just the way, just the way
Just the way, just the way
God made you
(God made you)
Just the way, just the way
Just the way, just the way
God made you, uh

Girl, I ain't ever gon' try to change ya (come on)
My masterpiece, my Mona Lisa, and I need ya
To stay just the way God made ya (just the way, just the way
Just the way, just the way God made you)
Just the way God made you (just the way, just the way
Just the way, just the way God made you)

I love you just the way God made you
Girl, he don't make mistakes
What you call your imperfections
I call beautiful, babe
So let my eyes be your mirror
And you're bound to see it too
'Cause I was made for loving
Just the way God made you

(God made you)
Just the way, just the way
Just the way, just the way
God made you
(God made you)
Just the way, just the way
Just the way, just the way
God made you
(God made you)
Just the way, just the way
Just the way, just the way
God made you
(God made you)
Just the way, just the way
Just the way, just the way
God made you

Backroad Girl

She could be on a front porch
Little Keith Whitley on vinyl through the screen door
Or down a crush and run gravel driveway, couple miles off the highway (yeah)
Or topping off at the Quik Stop
Glass bottle, Coca-Cola and a couple scratch offs
South of out there Tennessee
Maybe waiting on a guy like me

I'm just a hometown boy, looking for a backroad girl
Hair down, blowing out the window
Just as pretty in Realtree as diamonds and pearls
Yeah, she loves a four wheel drive floating down a two lane
Singing every word to a little bit of everything
Got a hometown boy in a small town world
Ridin' 'round, looking for a backroad girl
Looking for a backroad girl
(Backroad girl)

Ain't a compass that'll help me
Ain't a map I can tap that'll tell me, nah
Where she's at, where she's gonna be
Oh, wherever that is, is where I wanna be

I'm just a hometown boy, looking for a backroad girl
Hair down, blowing out the window
Just as pretty in Realtree as diamonds and pearls
Yeah, she loves a four wheel drive floating down a two lane
Singing every word to a little bit of everything
Got a hometown boy in a small town world
Ridin' 'round, looking for a backroad girl
Looking for a backroad girl

Might be a world away, might be the girl next door
But I know what I'm waiting for

I'm just a hometown boy, looking for a backroad girl
Yeah, I'm just a hometown boy, looking for a backroad girl
Hair down, blowing out the window
Just as pretty in Realtree as diamonds and pearls
Yeah, she loves a four wheel drive floating down a two lane
Singing every word to a little bit of everything
Got a hometown boy in a small town world
Ridin' 'round, looking for a backroad girl
Looking for a backroad girl

Take My Name

Take my hand, let me make you mine
I'm through waiting, taking my time
Never felt like this before
Take my name and make it yours

I hope you don't think it's a little bit crazy
Saying this all so soon
But baby, it's the right time, knew it from the first time
That I laid eyes on you
It's okay, let 'em say what they want
They might think I should wait but I don't, nah, I don't
Wanna waste a minute, girl, I want you in it
Every single part of my world

So take my hand, let me make you mine
I'm through waiting, taking my time
Never felt like this before
Take my name and make it yours

I know I'm the last guy, anybody think might
Ever be talking like this, yeah
But I can see my future in your eyes tonight
And taste forever on your lips
I'm like, hold up a minute, don't go
Ain't no way I can take this slow, so
Go ahead and tell me I'm outta my mind
Or baby, just tell me yes

And take my hand, let me make you mine
I'm through waiting, taking my time
Never felt like this before
Take my name and make it yours
Take my days, baby, take my nights
Go and take the rest of my life
Oh, 'cause I don't wanna wait no more
Take my name and make it yours, yeah

Take it all, baby, I don't ever want it back
Take it all, yeah, everything that I have

Take my hand, let me make you mine
I'm through waiting, taking my time
Never felt like this before
Take my name and make it yours
Take my days, baby, take my nights
Go and take the rest of my life
Oh, 'cause I don't wanna wait no more
Take my name and make it yours

Make it yours
Oh, 'cause I don't wanna wait no more
Take my name and make it yours

I Do

He didn't wanna make the time for ya (nope)
He never told you how he felt
He never laid it on the line for ya (damn)
And if he did you couldn't tell

But if you were mine
I'd tell you every day
A million different times
In a million different ways
I would stick around from the start to the finish
And I ain't even mad at the fact that he didn't

'Cause baby, I do, baby, I do
Wanna give you everything under that moon
Whatever you want, whatever you need
I can guarantee you that's what I'm gonna be
Letting go of you's kinda hard to imagine
Guess he never knew what he had when he had it
But baby, I do, baby, I do
Ah yeah, baby, I do

I wanna take you back to your hometown (that's right)
Ride them roads that you rolled down (skrt, skrt)
Do some hanging out with your home crowd (let's go)
And meet your mom and them too

'Cause baby, I do, baby, I do
Wanna give you everything under that moon
Whatever you want, whatever you need
I can guarantee you that's what I'm gonna be
Letting go of you's kinda hard to imagine
Guess he never knew what he had when he had it
But baby, I do, baby, I do
Ah yeah, baby, I do
Yeah

I wanna make your breakfast on your birthday (woo)
Send you roses on a work day (yeah)
Keep it feeling like the first date
Yeah, baby, I do
Baby, I do, baby, I do

Wanna give you everything under that moon
Whatever you want, whatever you need
I can guarantee you that's what I'm gonna be
Letting go of you's kinda hard to imagine
Guess he never knew what he had when he had it
But baby, I do, baby, I do
Ah yeah, baby I do
Baby, I do-oo-oo-oo
Baby, I do
Yeah, baby, I do

Miss You Now

I've been thinkin'
'Bout that weekend in Chicago
Drinkin' Rose out the bottle by the hotel pool
It was perfect
Kissed me on the elevator
Down the hallway
And we barely made it to that room

I'd give anything to go back
Yeah, I wish I would've known that
If I'd loved you then
Like I miss you now
You wouldn't be in his arms
All the way 'cross town
And I wouldn't be throwing back another shot of this whiskey down
If I'd loved you then
Like I miss you now
If I'd loved you then
Like I miss you, miss you now

I was stupid
Don't know how I didn't know
How good I had it when I had you
Girl, I had it all
Wish I would've seen it
When I had the chance
Wish it didn't take me losing you to understand

If I'd loved you then
Like I miss you now
You wouldn't be in his arms
All the way 'cross town
And I wouldn't be throwing back another shot of this whiskey down
If I'd loved you then
Like I miss you now
If I'd loved you then
Like I miss you, miss you now

I'd give anything to go back
Yeah, I wish I would've known that
If I'd loved you then
Like I miss you now
You wouldn't be in his arms
All the way 'cross town
And I wouldn't be throwing back another shot of this whiskey down
If I'd loved you then

Like I miss you, miss you now

Greatest Hits

Got your country from your hometown (country from your hometown)
Yeah, hip hop from your college crowd
Alright

Baby, I could write a song, sit down
And find the perfect chords
Baby, I could write a song
But it would never be as good as yours
So I'ma sit back and let it roll, babe
Somewhere off of that two-lane
Cranking it up on that creek bank
Falling in love to your mixtape

Got your country from your hometown
Hip hop from your college crowd
And rock and roll from your daddy's old forty-fives (forty-fives)
Got your Motown from you mama's soul
Makes me wanna hold you close
And slow dance to the rhythm of you all night (all night)
Wanna turn you on, play it all again
And love you just like this
You're the best thing that I ever did
So if anyone asks, girl, you're my greatest hits
Yeah, you're my greatest hits, yeah, yeah

You're the symphony surrounding me
Twenty-four-seven melody that make your hand clap
On another kind of energy
A twenty-four-carat gold record
You're the soundtrack
To all of my Friday nights
Laid back like a Sunday drive
Mic check, one, two, taking me to heaven
Turn it up to eleven

Got your country from your hometown
Hip hop from your college crowd
And rock and roll from your daddy's old forty-fives (forty-fives)
Got your Motown from you mama's soul
Makes me wanna hold you close
And slow dance to the rhythm of you all night (all night)
Wanna turn you on, play it all again
And love you just like this
You're the best thing that I ever did
So if anyone asks, girl, you're my greatest hits
Yeah, you're my greatest hits

You ain't no one-hit-wonder
Baby, you're something classic
I knew it when I met you
Girl, I had to have it

Got your country from your hometown
(Country from your hometown) yeah
Hip hop from your college crowd

Got your country from your hometown
Hip hop from your college crowd
And rock and roll from your daddy's old forty-fives (forty-fives)
Got your Motown from you mama's soul
Makes me wanna hold you close

Better With You

It could be a twelve pack, throw in the back of a Chevy kinda Friday night
It could be a lazy, Sunday afternoon just watching those cars go by
It could be a low rent hotel room
Or we could have a sunset beachfront view, yeah
Anytime or town, baby, you know how to turn it up a notch or two

You can take a two-lane town with no name turn it into Vegas lights
You can take a bad day, pouring down rain, turn it into clear blue skies
Yeah, you put the life in the party
You shine the light in the room
As long as we're together
Don't matter what I do
It can be whatever
But it's always better with you

It could be an old t shirt in back of my drawer
Baby, 'til you slip it on
Just a song on the radio I don't know
Until you start singing along
It could be my plain old camouflage hat
It could be a party I don't wanna be at
Baby, put you in it, don't even take a minute, crazy how just like that

You can take a two-lane town with no name turn it into Vegas lights
You can take a bad day, pouring down rain, turn it into clear blue skies
Yeah, you put the life in the party
You shine the light in the room
As long as we're together
Don't matter what I do
It can be whatever
But it's always better with you
It's always better with you

You put me in the mood
Put the full up in the moon, and the ninety in the proof and I don't how you do it
Like they're ain't nothin' to it, nah

You can take a two-lane town with no name turn it into Vegas lights
You can take a bad day, pouring down rain, turn it into clear blue skies
Yeah, you put the life in the party
You shine the light in the room
As long as we're together
Don't matter what I do
It can be whatever
But it's always better with you

Forget You

Don't know who to blame
I just blame myself
Did you need somebody else?
Someone to hold you like I didn't hold ya
Should've begged you to stay
Then maybe you wouldn't be gone
And alone wouldn't be what it is right now
But the truth hits like a stone

'Cause hearts break every time love gets broke
Can't believe we were so close
Now you're somebody I don't know
And I don't know why I'm
Driving by your house just to see what light's on
Keepin' my ringer loud just in case you might call
Singin' our song coming on like we used to
Doin' everything to forget to forget you

Baby, where did we go?
I was thinking we're on the same page
I guess somewhere along the way we made some stupid mistakes
But it's crazy to think it was too late to save

'Cause hearts break every time love gets broke
I can't believe we were so close
Now you're somebody I don't know
And I don't know why I'm
Driving by your house just to see what light's on
Keepin' my ringer loud just in case you might call
Singin' our song coming on like we used to
Doin' everything to forget to forget you

No, I don't wanna let you go
So tell me if there's still hope
That we could be different this time, baby, now that we know

Hearts break every time love gets broke
Can't believe we were so close
Now you're somebody I don't know (I don't know)
And I don't know why I'm
Driving by your house just to see what light's on
Keepin' my ringer loud just in case you might call
Singin' our song coming on like we used to
Doin' everything to forget to forget you

Alone Like That

Everybody's out here dancing
Everybody's having a damn good time
Every song is right on the money
Yeah, it's Friday night
You should be spinning like a disco ball
You should be letting that long hair fall, fall
Not waiting on him to call

One hand on your phone
One hand on your glass
You're at the party
But you're way in the back
Alone like that, alone like that
Yeah, I would never leave you alone like
That boy must've been crazy
The one that left you here, baby
Alone like that, alone like that
Yeah, I would never leave you alone like that

I know you didn't come out here
To sit there by yourself
All shinin' like a diamond
Baby, if you can't tell
You should be singing at the top of your lungs
You should be smiling like you're all in love, love
But something don't add up

One hand on your phone
One hand on your glass
You're at the party
But you're way in the back
Alone like that, alone like that
Yeah, I would never leave you alone like
That boy must've been crazy
The one that left you here, baby
Alone like that, alone like that
Yeah, I would never leave you alone like that

Somebody must've made a mistake (made a mistake)
Girl, I would never leave you that way

One hand on your phone
One hand on your glass
You're at the party
But you're way in the back
Alone like that, alone like that
Yeah, I would never leave you alone like
That boy must've been crazy
The one that left you here, baby
Alone like that, alone like that

I See You

Touch of gold shining through crossin' over
These sheets slipping down off your shoulder
I know I told you, a million times I told you
But I'ma tell you again
Damn, how'd I get so lucky?
Lucky just to be your man
If you could only see what I see
Girl, you'd understand

I see a million dollar sunset
House on a hill in the Carolina pines
A little last name change, front porch swing
A baby boy with his mamas eyes
A gravel drive with a perfect view
Couple acres with a creek cuttin' through
A little place to put down some roots
I see it all when I see you
When I see you
When I see you

Baby blues that I keep getting lost in
Looking at me right now got me fallin'
Every time, every time that I kiss you, I just wanna kiss you again (yeah)
Damn, how'd I get so lucky?
Lucky just to be your man
If you could only see what I see
You would understand

I see a million dollar sunset
House on a hill in the Carolina pines

When I see you
When I see you

I see me waking up every morning (every morning)
Right beside everything I ever wanted
Girl, when I'm with you

I see a million dollar sunset
House on a hill in the Carolina pines
A little last name change, front porch swing
A baby boy with his mamas eyes
A gravel drive with a perfect view

Ill Take The Chevy

You from the uptown, I'm from the way out
Somehow it seems to work
Yeah, you're nails are painted, my jeans are faded
Grass stained, covered in dirt
Hey, hey, they say opposites attract (uh-uh)
Hey, hey, we're livin' proof of that

You take the pool, I'll take the pond
You lay on the beach, I'll lay on the lawn
You wear the Gucci, I'll wear the Carhart
You watch the Housewives, I'll watch the NASCAR
You drive the highway, I'll sling the mud
You sip the champagne, I'll drink the Bud
You bump the Bieber, I'll crank the Petty
You take the Beamer, I'll take the Chevy
Hey
(Rollin', rollin', rollin', rollin', rollin')
I'll take the Chevy
(Rollin', rollin', rollin', rollin', rollin', rollin')
You take the Beamer, I'll take the Chevy

It ain't hard like math, you see
It's about as easy as 1, 2, 3
Little bit of you plus a little bit of me
Equals that backwood luxury

You take the pool, I'll take the pond
You lay on the beach, I'll lay on the lawn
You wear the Gucci, I'll wear the Carhart
You watch the Housewives, I'll watch the NASCAR
You drive the highway, I'll sling the mud
You sip the champagne, I'll drink the Bud
You bump the Bieber, I'll crank the Petty

For You

For the good times
For the right and the wrong times
For the hurt and the goodbye
For the you on my mind
Yeah, this is for the mistakes
For the making up all day
For the doing what it takes
For everything that I never say

I took my love and I wrote it down
Every single word that I'm singing now
The lights come on and I see the crowd
Girl, I can't help but think about
Spinning you around like a record on a Sunday morning with your hair let down
Every night that I roll to another town, yeah, it's crazy how
Everybody's singing along to a song I wrote for you

For the time I ain't with you
For every highway in between
For the miss you, need you, neon nights
That you ain't here with me, yeah

I took my love and I wrote it down
Every single word that I'm singing now
The lights come on and I see the crowd
Girl, I can't help but think about
Spinning you around like a record on a Sunday morning with your hair let down
Every night that I roll to another town, yeah, it's crazy how
Everybody's singing along to a song I wrote for you

And every time you hear oh, oh, oh
I got you in my arms
Oh, oh, oh, no matter where you are

I took my love and I wrote it down
Every single word that I'm singing now
When the lights come on and I see the crowd
Girl, I can't help but think about
Spinning you around like a record on a Sunday morning with your hair let down
