6th grade where to me band hall was the spot
Jazz big band to fill the iPod
Black nerd so they looked me odd
Backpack full books just get the AR
Rode the bus tried to sit in the back with all the cool kids
We all know how school is
Fast forward to the eighth didn't know who I was
Rocking south pole to look like a thug
But I found some good friends they was holding me up
We used to rap in the courtyard right after lunch
Bout lemon lime and tropical punch
Was pirating music
Learned the lyrics to stunt
Fascinated what the culture becomes
Acclimated and yet still I would run
I ain't wanna be no stereotype
Can't deny it kept my stereo tight
Stayed with music on the classical side
Fast forward just one more time
High school neglected music for a hoop dream
Cause I thought I had something worth proving
But never got my chance
Ain't it funny how things work out in the end
Still here tryna share my vision
Made mistakes made me who I am
No matter how it seems God's got a plan
