This morning over London the fog is lifted
First time in a long while I'm glad I existed
And with another Christmas, my eyes are misted
There's beauty in the snowfall I've always resisted
Strung along so long where souls don't belong
Humbugging something made the weakness strong
The world will burn you and never assures you
Of the log in the fire you can always return to
Ablaze yet afraid. All my rages hidden
Pain masquerading as sage's wisdom
I pull the ribbon on this day's beginning
The merriest Christmas my years have given
I'm as happy as an angel. Light as a feather
This morning is a blessing I will cherish forever
A little solitary renewed my clarity
To trust there is good is us enough to carry me
May the ghosts behind us cease to guide us
May the spirit of Christmas each day remind us
To correct our blindness. Extend our kindness
And trust that the good things in life will find us
'Til the end of my life
'Til the end of my life I want to know what it's like
To feel like a child again silly delights
Bundle up real tight for a snowball fight
I want to know what it's like
To have a place called home and a guiding light
Every person on the Earth I will treat them right
And keep Christmas in my heart every day of my life
My dearest Belle, I wish you well
As for myself, it's too soon to tell
But the haze of my serious days is clearing
Made way by a curious out of body experience
And Marley, no, my good friend Jacob
My whole life has been saved by your visits
I'm ready to begin this journey of forgiveness
Both our debts repaid with interest
I'll begin at a table where a family's gathered
As if none of the illness I inflicted mattered
I will double Bob's pay. Mine, I'll give it away
Tim will sit fireside wrinkled and grey
Delivered from the blizzard to the sky at its bluest
Redeemed this sinner. Now green through winter
Life in its truest is ripe with newness
All that I thought lost still flows through us
'Til the end of my life
'Til the end of my life I want to know what it's like
To look at the sky and behold the sight
Of the star that ignites through the dark of night
I want to know what it's like
To have a place called home and a guiding light
Every person on the Earth I will treat them right
And keep Christmas in my heart every day of my life
Merry Christmas. And God bless us everyone
