On the trails across this new found land
There's new life to be found
As my journey takes me miles away
I rest my body on the ground
This mighty frontier stretches on and on for days
As I drift from town to town
But for now I heed the calling of my heart
And for now I'm homeward bound
I'm not quite sure what day it is today
But I'm quite sure that I'm alive
On my journey I've seen life and death
And I've seen fire in the skies
I've heard stories of a better life out there
But as of yet there's none been found
So with the calling of my heart I ride these trails
And for now I'm homeward bound
Can you tell me does the rising sun feel good
Can you tell me does your woman's touch feel good
Across the empty nights my lonely heart was found
And from the echoes of a lonely bed I'm homeward bound
The morning light falls softly on my face
A gentle kiss upon my brow
I have wandered and have searched for lasting fate
Now I lay quiet in this town
That final frontier stretches on and on for years
My spirit set upon this ground
So with the calling of my heart I stake this claim
And for now I'm homeward bound
