I'm just trying to sit with this tension
That we're not bound by imperfection
While this judge inside tortures me
Distorts how I see and who I'm meant to be

Souls on a mission but I'm hung up on permission
When I finally speak truth eases out of me
While this fire inside's used to purify

As we strive to heal and survive

We hurt who we love, the other side bleeds
When we share to repair we set ourselves free
As we're talking 'bout hunger from ghosts in the grass
And I'm vying to stay here and notice my breath

Are we souls in some dark abyss
Where love is the only way we persist?
Cause I'm tired of this aching when things can be fixed
How do I thank you for teaching me this?

As I choose to step off this ledge
