Ronoc 'N' Roll - Crap I Learned in High School Lyrics

Movin' up in the world, movin' out of my dad's house
Haven't learned what I needed which I'm still kinda mad about
Still chasing girls so far out of my league they're a nation
Making my own way thanks to public education
Now let's look
I don't know how to balance a checkbook
Can't seem to figure out how to French cook
Good thing I carried 'round a textbook

For four years like a damn pack-mule
The crap I learned back in high school
Oh I'm sure it's really gonna help
Even though I was probably better off teaching myself

Fought through my classes, they tested certain skills
Wished they has assessed a way to pay the bills
Thanks to AP Chem I can use a Bunsen Burner
But if I don't wanna science degree could I have at least learned a
Bout something
That'll help me succeed in the long run
Cuz I'm still under the assumption
That I'll need to know what ln, log10 and e mean just to function

That's irrational for us to think or do
The crap I learned back in high school
Oh I'm sure it's really gonna help
Even though I was probably better off teaching myself

Want me to run a mile in under 6 minutes
Or find the pH of a substance by testing its litmus
I'll write a 3-page thesis on who the hell Hester Prynne is
But what good would that do me if I'm tryna work for a business
And the only thing I'm an expert in is washing dishes
Kids shouldn't have to graduate feeling diminished
Feeling like they didn't accomplish anything when they finish
I'll tell you what all this is

It's crap I learned in high school
Crap I learned in high school
Oh I'm sure it's really gonna help
Probably woulda been better off teaching myself
It's crap I learned in high school
Crap I learned in high school
Oh I'm sure it's really gonna help
Probably woulda been better off teaching myself
Teaching myself... teaching myself
