Cold outside
No leaf on the trees
Rain instead of snow
An icy winds blow
It's cold behind the doors too
Freezing hearts
Tears from ice
And it's winter again
He walks along the street
Grey in grey
Tone in tone and monochrome
Grey where once were colours
Even Persil will not wash the world clean
He shivers
He feels empty
Who cares about him?
And it's winter again
She is drowning
Sinking deep
Is there something worse
Than fighting while knowing you'll never win?
Her scars are deep, but invisible
Who cares about her?
And it's winter again
Winter again
Then he comes home
After two years in foreign
He feels like a stranger
While all looks familiar
And they welcome him
With open arms
She almost ran past (cold outside)
The sign saying:
"Church open.
Everyone welcome."
She had nothing to lose (cold outside)
So she went inside
When she came out (cold outside)
Not all was well
But her impermanence
Has become hope
