It's been a long, long weekend
And I'm heading down the coast
Got a couple of long necks in a woolies cooler bag
Gonna hit up the beach before I go back to work
We set up in between the flags
Don't worry mum, I didn't forget to slip, slop, and slap
We sit up on the shore as we watch the Surfers
Crashing out on the horizon
It's been a long, long weekend
(It's been so long)
It's been a long, long weekend
(Goes on and on)
It's been a long, long weekend
(It's been so long)
Long, long weekend
(Goes on and on)
We head up to the local corner store for lunch
Order a burger, chips and a can of drink
Ask the girl at the counter if I can swap it for a bottle of chocolate milk
What a legend, she says yes
Couldn't stop to talk too long, the line, it was out the door
But hell, I'd be too shy to talk to her anyway
She was standing there, with her long black hair
I got lost in her eyes like Harold Holt got lost out at sea
It's been a long, long weekend
(It's been so long)
It's been a long, long weekend
(Goes on and on)
It's been a long, long weekend
(It's been so long)
It's been a long, long weekend
(Go, go, go)
