six.eight - feathers Lyrics

Riding down the boulevard
A whole world in my hand
In my hand

The bus motor rumbles
And the station started to fade
The station started to fade

Hear the gears shift
And the motor sputter
Half the bus asleep
One way or another

At 6 am I usually take the 57 bus from Girard to Market
Some people are sleeping, some drinking coffee
At Market I pick up the El
At the station the homeless are beginning to wake up
Heading west the train is full of all sorts
Service workers, other people going to work and addicts using it as a motel
At 69th street I pick up the 103 bus, some people talking on their phone, some zoning out
We pass through the predominately black neighborhood of Overbrook Park and the mostly not Havertown
As the sun begins to rise the bus drops me off at school

The weight of the world
The weight of the world
The weight

I's just another feather
I's just another feather
It's just

The weight of the world

...Let it go
Float away....

Once the sun sets and the sky is dark I take the bus back to Philly
