Terrifying story I awoke to today
Fast flying metal, whizzing far, far away
Sarah said mommy, where's daddy? I wanna play
The spirit watched her cry, as he floated away
The world in which we live
Life senselessly thrown away
There's a worrisome disconnect
An explosive discontent
Wisdom of old long forgotten
Fear turned to anger hate begotten
Used to be the rich that waged these wars
And the poor ran ashore, dead for liberty and oil
Now enemies are our neighbors and fathers, daughters and sons
War everywhere and nowhere, till it has begun
The people we knew and loved
Voted off for no reason I care to think of
There's a worrisome disconnect
An explosive discontent
Wisdom of old long forgotten
Fear turned to anger hate begotten
To let us throw it all away
To let us throw it all away
To let us throw it all away
To let us throw it all away
And as the spirit floated away
He watched all of earth and he prayed
If all goes well then maybe, maybe one day
Sarah can grow up and be a mother some day
