Sometimes I'm laughing
Sometimes it feels like I'm dreaming
Photographing a friend I love
On the edge of eternity
Screaming in the supermarket
I'm not sure who's dying - me or you
Although you are the one in the bed there
With your love beside you breathing
Crying
Facing the rest of this life on her own
No comfort knowing she's connected
It's a big dark ocean after all
No one really knows how to cross it
The only way for sure is the one we'd all care to avoid
That moment comes for everyone
For now I'll dance beneath the sun
Especially through the summer and the fall
Forgetting momentarily
There is a big dark ocean after all
Sometimes I'm weeping
Sometimes I feel so exhausted
Sleeping ain't much of an option now
Knowing you won't return to me
Lost it in the shower this morning
I forget who's dying - me or you
Although you are the one in the bed there
With your love knowing you're leaving
Trying to figure out the rest of it on her own
No comfort being a psychic
It's a big dark ocean after all
No one really knows how to face it
The only way for sure is the one where you stare into the void
That moment comes for everyone
For now I'll love until I'm done
All you ever have to do is call
Recalling momentarily
Albeit oh so scarily
Recalling momentarily
There is a big dark ocean
A big dark ocean
There is a big dark ocean after all
Sometimes I'm laughing
Sometimes it feels like I'm dreaming
